Sonesta ES Suites Cincinnati - Sharonville West

We rented the 2 bedroom suite--it was filthy with so many stains and burn holes in carpet--the handrail was cut---remotes to TV didn't work--Not handicap accessible as we had to carry a mobility scooter up the stairs--lights didn't work--they take a 250 deposit--I'm sure if we didn't take pictures and spoke to someone at the desk they would have blamed us--can't forget the bug in the bathtub--that unit needs to be closed- the night we checked in all we got as an answer "I don't know"--even calling customer service that night they didn't care--this has been the worst place we have ever stayed in all our years of traveling--they did have a helpful person Sat am--

Had a very positive experience at a Sonesta property in New York several months ago so I decided to try this location. A complete disappointment. The stains on the carpet had stains. The closet door had a hole in it. The walls had been burned in several places. Utensils consisted of one fork, three knives - no spoons. Paper towel was missing. Arrived late in the evening and departed very early in the morning. Definitely not what I was expecting.

While the room itself appeared to be somewhat clean, the furniture was old and rickety. There were stains on the carpet and couch. The bed seemed clean and was comfortable (thank goodness). But there is a lot to be desired. This place is party central. As we pulled in with some take out to relax after a long day setting up and working at a convention, the place is full of older teenagers literally EVERYWHERE. There is no room to park or even for us to move forward in the drive. So we sat in the car for 15 minutes watching the goings on. Police were already on scene and evacuating the party rooms. There had to be 100-150 young people coming out of the unit directly above and more exiting the room adjacent to that one. I was worried with the sheer number of people and the construction of the place that the ceiling could have fallen in. Once the police got them out of the rooms, there were a lot of people then standing around waiting to be picked up by their ride. The police cleared one parking spot so we could finally park. They then used our car to hold their purses and jackets and left trash everywhere. There was broken glass on our doorstep. And worst of all, our room reeked of **** so bad. The smell was still there the next day. The next night wasn’t much better. We get back from the convention to hearing someone running back and forth in the unit above us. And more kids (looked like preteens) hanging out all over the grounds and the smell of **** again very prominent outside. We heard kids walking and cars going back and forth around our unit for most of the night. Thank goodness I brought a sound machine to drown out some of it to get some sleep. I’m all for kids having fun but find a different place to hang out. Now back to the place itself, the toilets are installed at an angle towards the wall which makes it awkward to use. The toilet paper is so thin, it was comical. There was no conditioner in the bathroom dispenser. The two chairs in the kitchen area were so rickety and unstable. The kitchen sponge had already been used! There was trash everywhere in the grass and walkways. I asked for more towels and every time I checked they never had wash towels available to switch out. The units have sliding glass doors and a fireplace?!?! Both caused a draft in the room and I worried about the security of the sliding glass door. I will not stay here again and definitely would not recommend this place!

Our room was really roomy. We didn’t expect to have as much space available as we did. The room itself was very clean, equipped with stainless steel appliances including a dishwasher! The king bed was super comfy. My daughter and son in law said that the pull out couch wasn’t too bad.

If it was up to me i would never come back to this hotel. Me and my family have been going here with my grandma since we were younger and they have been going her since my dad and uncle were young too every year for our trip to kings island and the service and hotel has never been this horrible. They never restock anything for breakfast, they don't keep very important systems up to date (the fire alarm), they maids don't clean properly, and they don't give their guest consequences when they do stuff they aren't supposed to. When we went to breakfast there were very few options only coffee to drink and no hot food other than miniature pancakes and the machine broke down when they were making my 7 year old sister some. While we were getting ready to go to kinds island the fire alarm went off because of a system malfunction that they don't keep up to date. When we went into our room the lamp, drawer, and dishwasher were broken along with a cup that was shattered and they gave us a twin size mattress cover for the queen sized pull out in both of our rooms. And when we went out to the pool it was very small and the hot tub was broken and they allowed about 10 or so of the guest play football in the pool not only making it dangerous for all of the smaller kids that were in there but splashing everyone else around them don't get me wrong i am all for kids having fun in the pool but there are limits like playing football which is a rough sport and all of the kids were around 11-16 and the parents were watching. Later that night the small kids were running around the halls until 3 a.m. ding dong ditching people. Overall the employees are just trashy and don't care i'm not saying all of them but the receptionist and maintenance guy were sitting down socializing with a person who wasn't a guest while not on break keep in mind what i said about breakfast and the fire alarm. Right after the "quest" left the receptionist when back to her seat and was calling for a outfit while the work phone was ringing. i would never in my life recommend this place to someone and it has gone downhill severely over the few past year and was not the good service and quality it used to be

My friends and I chose this hotel to stay in because it was a reasonably priced suite close to downtown Cincinnati and Paycor Stadium, where we were attending a concert. The clerk at the desk was friendly, and the room was pretty much as pictured (although a bit more drab). The beds were not super comfortable, and the fridge completely froze our food and waters. However, it was nice to have two bathrooms and plenty of room to spread out comfortably. The kitchen was also stocked with some utensils. We were mostly disappointed with the hotel "amenities." The pool sign was set to Open mid-day, but the gate was locked shut and we were informed that the maintenance person wouldn't be arriving until 3 p.m. or so to clean the pool (and it stormed at that time, so we didn't get to use it at all). I'm not sure if there was a reason it had to be cleaned mid-day, but this was explained to us as if it was normal procedure. The breakfast was also pretty sparse--there were pans set out that seemed meant for hot food, but they were empty all weekend. We ended up going to the McDonald's up the street. Overall, we weren't unhappy staying here, but I probably wouldn't choose it again if I'm in the area. We didn't get all the amenities we paid for--however, it was a conveniently located stay that met our basic needs.

A mostly good experience with some bumps. Night clerk wasn't super friendly when checking in. It's an old studio apartment complex they have turned into a suites hotel. The room was nice and clean smelling but the toilet leaked and there was some issues with the shower. Breakfast was limited but the day clerk made sure my kiddo got some juice to drink from the "for sale" snack bar complimentary. Coffee was good and hot. The dining area was welcoming as well. We only stayed one night and got in late so no ability to rate the pool or other amenities. A solid stay for the cost.

Looks pretty nice on the outside, but at the same time sketchy. In the inside it looks so pretty.. the upstairs bathroom door wouldn’t close, and half of the windows wouldn’t open (remember this for later..) and the fan would not turn on. Also, the outside is trashed, with random stuff (especially cigarettes.) Lesson: if this happens, just go to another hotel. Okay, this info will explain the part I asked you to remember for later. The room (1822) smells like cigarettes even though they encourage you not to. We asked for another room (1322) it smelled worse, it switched from cigarettes to ****. Lesson 2: avoid 1822 and 1322. I traveled with my three siblings (not including me), my parents, and my two dogs (Luckily we did not bring our two cats.) Lesson 3: this is probably a couple place, I do not recommend bringing kids or animals. Overall lesson: don’t go to this hotel, just avoid it.

I stay in hotels quite often for business and personal use. This was the first time with Sonesta. The good: Check in (Larry) and check out (Steve) staff were very nice and understanding. The room’s kitchen amenities were good. The bed was comfortable. The bad: Exterior Entrance door to room had a large gap causing a draft so bad the snow actually blew into the room. There were other drafts / cold spots in the room including near the bed. The toilet plugged 3 times. We needed to use a plunger and boiled water to clear it. The sofa armrests were very badly soiled. The telephone did not work (another guest had the same problem). The door card lock did not work properly. No hot breakfast or was available. Overall, it was unfortunately a disappointing experience. These issues were reported to Steve who confirmed that a refund would be issued for the stay. Based on this, I hope to give Sonesta an opportunity to provide a better experience in the future.
