This trip to Lushan, it is really a surprise to be able to stay at Chaoman Hotel!
As soon as I arrived at the hotel, the front desk staff greeted me warmly, polite and friendly, and the check-in process was quick and smooth. Unexpectedly, even the manager came to say hello in person, and the thoughtful service made people feel warm. They introduced us to the play guide of Lushan Scenic Area in detail and cordially, and also shared the surrounding specialties, so that we have a clear idea of playing in an instant when we first arrived.
The experience of the family room is even more perfect, spacious and comfortable, warm and intimate, more than enough for three people. The room was clean and tidy, the beds were soft and the facilities were intact. It is very convenient to eat and shop around the hotel, and it is quiet to sleep well at night. Next time I come to Lushan, Chaoman Hotel is definitely my first choice!

Originally, I didn’t expect anything from the homestay. After all, there was no pure rural interest in design. It was really unexpectedly warm service. The proprietress cooked a good dish. I originally thought that Shaoshan Hotel was a government-type reception hotel, and the sanitation and rooms should be very good. Booked a deluxe room. There is no luxurious feel at all, the carpets are dirty, the bedding is uncomfortable, and the lights are dim. Don't be fooled by the photos, the room facilities are not well maintained. Breakfast ended at 9 o'clock, and when we arrived at 8:30, there was nothing to eat. The breakfast in this old hotel should be very good. Very poor value for money.
The advantage is that the location is very good. When you go out, you can walk a few steps to Mao Zedong Square and the Memorial Hall, as well as Mao Zedong's former residence, which is very close on foot. Parking is easy.

The high-speed rail arrived at Lushan South Station. The boss personally picked up the station and it was free. This was really good on a hot day. I also helped us contact the car in advance when we left the store, which saved a lot of things! The homestay is opposite the former residence, very close. The room was clean and tidy, and the proprietress said very carefully how to visit and play. In the evening, I also booked the tickets for the ”Most Memory of Lushanchong” performance, which was wonderful! Worth a look.

GGuest UserThis is a very typical rural B&B, with a restaurant on the first floor and guest rooms on the second and third floors. The B&B is located in a village at the entrance of the scenic spot. Parking is allowed and pets are allowed. It is about 500 meters away from the former residence of the elders and the Bronze Statue Square. The owner's service is warm and the room is clean. The facilities are simple and outdated. The bathroom did not provide bath towels and there was no shower. The bedding may be too basic and make a twitching sound when you turn over. In Shaoshan in March, the temperature at night was very low, so I needed to turn on the air conditioner, but the sound from the outdoor air conditioner was loud, like a tractor. When I turned off the air conditioner, the same sound came from the outdoor air conditioners in other rooms, and the quilt was a little thin. Great choice for light sleepers. It’s okay to just pass by on a self-driving tour and stay overnight.

I deeply feel the enthusiasm of the people in the chairman's hometown. It is an amazing experience. My grandmother is 80 years old and visited Shaoshan. Staying in this hotel gave us a lot of care. GGuest UserThe couple running this renovated traditional home in Mao's home village are very attentive to guests' needs, even on the busiest day of the year, December 26th, Chairman Mao's birthday. My partner was coming down with a cold and got some ginger soup to drink. Additionally, when we screwed up our schedule and almost couldn't make our train out of Shaoshan, with no train available to reschedule, the couple arranged for the husband to drive us to the station for little more than gas money. It's up a slight hill from the other inns and allows one to get a bit of peace and quiet, again, even on the busiest day of the year, when Shaoshan is very worth a visit for anyone interested in Mao Zedong's legacy, given the number of Chinese people who show up to sing, dance, wave various flags and give speeches. Don't make our mistake and schedule the Chairman Mao memorial hall for a full visit instead of rushing though it. The exhibit is full of pictures and dioramas and has English captions for most things.
I also wish we'd had time to explore the pagoda on the hill behind the guesthouse.

The 1.35-meter twin bed is not too small to sleep on, and the bed is soft enough and comfortable. The toilet is also big enough, with dry and wet separations. GGuest UserIt is very close to the city hall. There is a relatively large supermarket nearby, which is very convenient. There is a Hunan restaurant next to it, which tastes good! The facilities are a bit old, like home decoration from more than ten years ago, European furniture, but the color of the velvet on the bedside has changed. There is no bottled water in the room. You can boil water at the tea machine in the corridor. The door handle of the bathroom shower room is broken. There were black spots inside the quilt. Because it was raining, we turned on the air conditioner to remove the moisture. We asked the staff to change the quilt and they said it was dust blown down by us turning on the air conditioner. Fortunately, it was replaced later.
