One of the best homestay we stayed at across the different cities in Yunnan. They provide all sorts of amenities such as oxygen and humidifier machine in the room to help reduce the symptoms of high altitude. The boss and lady boss are super friendly and hospitable. Location wise is ideal as it is within the old town. You can contact the boss via WeChat before arrival to help bring your luggage up from the North gate as there is some slope. We also booked our Tu Si Yan via them. Beautiful view at night but it was snowing when we went. Will definitely stay here again if I’m back.

We had an amazing stay at Shangri-La Banxia Time Homestay, and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shangri-La, Yunnan. From the moment we booked, the host was extremely responsive, keeping in touch with us for three weeks before our trip. They provided useful tips, such as bringing heavy clothes due to the cold and snow, which helped us a lot in preparing for our visit. One of the best things about this homestay was the hospitality. The host picked us up and dropped us off at the train station for free of charge, making our arrival and departure hassle-free. They also went the extra mile by lending us winter jackets at no cost, which was a thoughtful gesture. Additionally, they arranged a driver for us to visit the places we wanted to explore, making our trip smooth and enjoyable. The homestay itself was fantastic—spacious, exactly as shown in the pictures, and equipped with complete amenities. It truly felt like a home away from home. The bed was very comfortable, and we appreciated the hot blankets and oxygen supply, which were essential due to Shangri-La’s high altitude. The homestay also had a modern design while being located in the heart of the ancient town, offering easy access to everything. Beyond the comfortable stay, the host’s kindness and guidance made our experience even better. They recommended great places to visit and local restaurants to try, ensuring we had a memorable trip. The room is in a good location, inside Dukezong Ancient Town. It is very convenient to go out for photos, check in and eat. There is a Sifang Street next to it. Many people will dance Guozhuang dance together at night. There is also oxygen in the room. It really saved my life to arrive at Shangri-La after climbing Tiger Leaping Gorge on the first day! I felt refreshed after breathing oxygen and slept very well at night. The rooms are relatively clean. The boss is also very nice. He helped us pick up and drop us off at the station and helped us with our luggage after staying for two nights. It was a very satisfying experience. The mushroom barbecue and yak skewers nearby are also delicious.

Facilities: Very unique, the boss and his wife are very hospitable. After coming back from shopping, they asked us to warm ourselves by the fire and chat. The boss's wife poured us hot tea and peeled oranges for us to enjoy. There are several delicious ******* restaurants just outside the door. It is very convenient to visit the ancient city and to take a taxi to other scenic spots. There is not enough hot water in the morning, so you have to boil water for washing your face. There is an electric heater in the house so it is quite warm in winter.
