Arrived in the middle of the night, I found a nearby hotel on the Trip.com website. There is a parking lot in the store. When I arrived at the store, the people in the store enthusiastically helped us with our luggage. When we entered the room, it was very clean and looked very comfortable. All the staff were incredibly patient and helpful, both during our stay and even before it began. Their responses to our enquiries were almost instant. Not only that, they also helped us get a driver (on our own expenses) for various attractions. We also appreciate the night time goodies which they prepare for us every night e.g. yak milk and fruits and delivered to our room. We would give the entire service crew a 100/10 for going the extra mile for their guests.
Hotel:
Stunning views, adorable animals, and an excellent room! The amenities are adequate and beyond expectation e g. Dyson hair dryer, marshall speaker and projector -- everything was well thought of for our stay. There is also a free 20 min professional photography service with traditional costume for guests and we get to select 3 photos for our keepsake. We enjoyed our stay very much and wish to return!

I had an amazing two-night stay at this homestay at Shangri-La (decided to extend 1 more night)! The accommodation was super comfortable and clean, offering a peaceful escape from the city. Surrounded by lush nature, fresh mountain air, and lovely ranch animals like horses, pigs, and cows – it felt like a cozy countryside retreat.
What made the stay even more special was the host's warm hospitality. He owns two adorable and friendly big dogs – a Samoyed and a Golden Retriever – as well as two super cute sheep that roam around the property. It really added to the charm and made me feel at home.
The area is quiet and relaxing, perfect for anyone looking to unwind and reconnect with nature. The owner was also very responsible and kind enough to provide return transport to the railway station, which was a huge help.
Highly recommended if you're looking for a peaceful, nature-filled stay with warm vibes and great company!

VVy Anh NguyenThis is by far the best hotel I stayed at during my trip to China. The hotel is equipped with all modern amenities, especially the toilet with an automatic bidet (something that’s not found anywhere else in China). The room was incredibly cozy with modern heating facilities, and the host even provided an oxygen machine (though I didn’t actually need to use it). I truly felt that it was worth every penny for the two nights I spent here.
One of the highlights was the adorable and friendly Ragdoll cat that lives here! The hotel owner even allowed us to bring the cat into our room to play, and it was just so sweet and playful.
Moreover, the host offered us a free pick-up and drop-off service at both the train station and the airport, even though it was 7 in the morning! I honestly have no complaints about this hotel. If you want to enjoy a fantastic stay in Shangrila, book this hotel now!

NnataneleMy room in Feifan is going to be the highlight of the stay. It is large, spacious for family of 4. The second floor is definitely the cutest part. We really enjoy our stay here. The host also helped us with all travel related needs like ordering taxi, sending us chaffeur to tour the Napahai, bringing us luggage, as well as picking us up at the train station.
One thing to add, I felt like a proper training for the reception would really elevate the overall ”luxury” experience. The breakfast needs more depth, maybe ******* meal will make this more special. Kudos to the manager for sending us back to the train station.
Notes for foreigner, try to get locals to phone the hotel number to inform them about your booking so they can have your wechat for convinience.

RRonaNalaThe hotel is located 1 km from the ancient town and is a 10-15 minute drive to the train station.
The room was comfortable, and the water pressure and heater worked perfectly.
The Wi-Fi was very stable as well. (For foreigners, do bear in mind, if you connect to hotel wifi, you would need to connect to VPN in order to use WhatsApp, IG or Youtube)
This is a 9-year-old property, so there are some flaws that can be improved, but that is understandable.
My only feedback is about the F&B restaurant; they only have one all-day dining option. Breakfast was alright, with more of a local selection.
I stayed for two nights. On the first day, there was staff available to help me and serve my cafe latte order. However, on the second day, I did not see any staff on standby, so I had to make my own cafe latte (I had to froth the milk), which I found awkward.
I wish the staff were more well trained, but I understand it is low season and the hotel probably hired part-timers for service.
The best highlight of my stay was meeting a lady named Rose He, who is part of the guest services team (i think). She made recommendations on where to go and even found us a local driver to take us around. She was extremely kind and polite. We exchanged WeChat information, and she texted me when the weather turned cold or rainy. She also helped us to arrange complimentary transportation to the train station. It felt personalized. Shangri-La, if you are reading this, I believe she deserves a token of appreciation. She is the true star and a great example of “hospitality.”

After checking in, we were introduced to the hotel, museum, and dining places. The staff was really patient and enthusiastic.
The location of the hotel is very good. You can see Songzanlin Temple and the horse farm when you open the window.

DDruidSuper stay! Really welcoming host, offered free drinks, local information, and even a late check-out. Surrounding area is beautiful and peaceful. Within the room, the amenities we're great including an electric heating blanket, a/c, and a Japanese style electric toilet. Within the hotel there is a restaurant, pool table, and swimming area with a great view. Highly recommend.

AAhranHi folks! I know you have limited time and you can hardly make a decision where to stay among this hostel or the others like Halfway hostel and Tina hostel, especially if you've never been to this area, Hutaoxia or Leaping Tiger George. Without any hesitation, I would highly recommend you to stay here for a couple of reasons.
1) This is a legendary place with history. You know that.
2) There is a common area outside the cafe with comfortable tables, chairs and pillows where you can enjoy the scenery and the night starts. The view is breathtaking. In my opinion, it was much better than the one from Tigerbucks in Halfway Hostel.
The restaurant is downstairs. The food was tasty and the price was reasonable. I cannot compare it with the one served by others as I had no chance to try it.
The newly built rooms are even better. The floors are heated, which we Koreans are crazy about. 😊 To book those rooms, you probably need to do it at least a few months in advance. I stayed in the old one, but nothing to complain about.
