I stayed in this hotel in different years. So, I have a good comparison base. I was particularly happy with the very kind help by Guo the receptionist. He accompanied me to the room to show it and immediately proceeded with check in without any fuss. He kindly responded positively to all my queries and made me very welcome. I had a very good New Year's thanks to the Great location of the hotel and the help provided by the staff. I would certainly return to stay there again.

Very pleased with our stay. A room with two twin beds and another bedroom double bed huge space for family of 4 to move around. The pricing is very good. Short walk from MRT station. Friendly and helpful staff. Initially skeptical about booking coz it is a very old hotel but they have refurbished. From beddings to towels n tv n amenities, all very good. No regrets !

The experience was indeed good, stayed at this hotel for 6 nights, the cleaner was very friendly and helpful. Also, walking distance to Jing An MRT station, the only cons was the construction carried out beside the hotel hence can hear the noise in the morning.

Extremely grand hotel, but was put in a room in the side building with limited security, cleanliness and poor aesthetic.

Carpet old and dirty. Mattress has the same issue. My daughter got hives all over her body the next day morning when she woke up. She became very worried as she had never had this kind of skin problems before. Upon check in, the receptionist pointed out that my daughter’s passport was not stamped when she entered into China. We were shocked when she made such comments. Actually the entry stamp was right underneath the exit stamp in her passport. We are just relieved that we only needed one night stay there during our trip. Unfortunately we won’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

I stayed at the North building. There is a staircase to access the lift. With the big luggage is not so convenience.

The location is great, but the check-in experience is not nice. The front desk personnel engaged in talking to each other themselves instead of concentrating on customers. Nobody asked if we need toothbrush and toothpaste.

Great room for cheap in central Shanghai (Jing’an District). Spacious, clean, and with all the expected amenities. Would definitely come back!

Hotel is well located in Jing A Temple surroundings. Subway at 5min walking distance line 2, 7 and 14.
Only issue is rooms are close to the elevated road, so can be a little noisy.
And beds are on the hard level...

Be careful when you book a "north garden" wing room at a cheaper price. There are reasons they are cheaper than the usual rooma from this hotel. It's a separate builfing next to the main hotel, beds are hard, rooms are small and simple and they put me in the room closest to the freeway so the traffic noise was loud day and night. Be careful, you are not getting a bargain when you book one of these rooms
