Catskill Seasons Inn

This place has got issues. We stayed here for two nights while we attended a weekend event down the road. We checked in Friday afternoon. The check in area is also the pub, it’s rustic and okay, and the staff were very friendly. They gave us our room number and check-in code and we pulled around to room 14 in the “chalet” building. To the left of our door there were three hefty bags of garbage with a greasy pizza box and an empty beer can on top. To the right of our door there is a very sad looking folded up rollaway cot, with a rusty looking frame and a well seasoned mattress. The laundry room was to the right of the rollaway bed; the door to the laundry room was stuck open with piles of (presumably) dirty laundry, which was not only blocking the door from closing but strewn all over the place, piled against the walls and all over the floor which looked like a dirty basement floor, just gross.. I don’t know why I didn’t take a picture of this, it really was the thing of hotel nightmares. We go into our room, which was maybe, if I’m being generous, cleanish. I mean, the sink had a pile of either mildewy scuzz or bug larvae on the back part where the faucet is. There was an icky plunger wedged between the toilet and shower curtain, and the bathroom floor seemed like it hadn’t been scrubbed clean for more than a hot minute. There is a kitchenette in room 14, which we didn’t need but maybe is a nice feature if you end up here and want to cook. It’s not too clean and had two large shards of glass sticking up vertically out of the drain - I mean seriously a lawsuit waiting to happen. The air conditioner is nasty dirty and not great, but it works. Suite 14 has a second small room with two twin beds. There was a dehumidifier in that room - but off course it was full and the water had not been emptied before we showed up. The bathroom was a little gross (that’s generous), but the shower was really the kicker. We were trying to clean up for the event we were attending, and at the same time so were some of the other rooms. This meant our shower essentially did not work. There was so little water pressure that you could only get a dribble out of the tub faucet. When you tried to pull the lever to switch the water to the shower you got a few drops of water. Finally we got enough pressure to take a very unsatisfying shower. We didn’t want to turn the water off for fear of losing pressure so I jumped in after my wife to hold onto our small amount of water flow. As I showered (I dared not shampoo my hair in case the pressure died completely and I was stuck with a head full of shampoo lather), at one point I had to put my hand under the shower head and let the water trickle hit the palm of my hand and go down my arm as a way to try and rinse off. It was so bad. You might not believe me when I say I am not very fussy, but it’s true. I grew up staying in Motel 6’s and thinking they were great. We booked room 31 in the Chalet and we absolutely loved it! The beds are super comfortable with clean sheets and duvets. The apartment is overall very comfortable and simple but beautifully decorated with nice hardwood floors instead of the usual carpets in hotels. We enjoyed our coffee on the balcony watching the sun rise over the mountains and loved the relaxing sound of the creek and the river nearby. The inn is conveniently located near lots of great trails, towns to visit, and amazing restaurants (Peekamoose!).

We enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and cheerful plus the beds were very comfortable.

Great they have the restaurant/bar downstairs. Nice quiet and clean. Close to Bellayre. Would stay again!

Ice on ground and road that not safety outside. Hotel is good place indoor bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom.
