Would definitely recommend The Grosvenor Arms. Staff all helpful, professional and welcoming; food was excellent; room spacious, clean, comfortable- fabulous bath and shower!

Advised about the parking so not an issue and did manage to pull up outside to unload the luggage. Receptionist was welcoming and very helpful. First impressions were it was a great hotel and wasn't wrong. Good directions to our suite, which was the biggest room we've ever stayed in and as for the bathroom I've never seen a bathroom or walk in shower that big. They need to show that on the room booking its colossal! We had booked dinner and breakfast for 2 nights. The waiting staff were very friendly and helpful and the food at both dinner and breakfast delicious. The bar area was lovely, the courtyard was very quaint and all of the rooms you could sit in and relax in were being used and were delightful. All of the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The only tiny downside is the parking and no direct air con in the room but a small portable unit. We even had builders in the room next door we barely heard. A must visit for the area, gorgeous town Shaftesbury and the hotel is so close to the famous Gold Hill. Cannot rate this highly enough, a must, must stay even you want to visit anywhere near here. The only reasons I knocked off a star was because could have done with another staff member running the bar on a busy Saturday afternoon and some of the public area chairs were a bit stained but i appreciate there is ongoing refurbishment. All the staff we met were lovely, our room (no 19) was very clean and comfortable. Our dinner was superb - loved the local produce and slightly different choices. Definitely would stay again!

Great place to stay, friendly & helpful staff, good food & wine, comfortable bed and pretty surroundings. Will stay again and would recommend.

I booked to stay here six months in advance and having never been to the area before I was delighted with the beautiful town and the fantastic hotel! I was staying on my own but everything was perfect! Thoroughly recommend.

We’ve been a number of times before, but not since 2014, so it was good to return. A lot has changed - the public areas are unrecognisable, but what they have done flows and works brilliantly. Our room was a very good size with a large terrace, and very nicely decorated and furnished. The food was very tasty and there are lots of options; next time we will try the pizza. Breakfast excellent. The staff were all lovely - nothing seemed too much trouble - and they made our stay very comfortable. A special mention to Amber who seemed to be everywhere and absolutely tireless, she is a brilliant asset to the hotel.
