Yediburunlar Lighthouse Boutique Hotel & Restaurant

We upgraded our room and the room was huge with the most fabulous views over the seven capes. Well worth doing (it was also the only place we stayed in Turkey with a kettle). We had a tv which didn't work, which we didn't really care about - Wi-Fi was patchy but reasonable given the remoteness of the location. The bed was very comfortable. Very few staff - a girl who spoke English and was helpful and a chap who worked like a Trojan and seemed to do everything. While there wasn't a high level of service, we felt welcome and were served good food, both for breakfast and dinner. Wine is very expensive (probably because the place is so remote) and they only accept payment in cash. However we really enjoyed our stay here.

Positives - amazing location & view, lovely rooms. That is it. No wi fi in rooms by the way - only in the bar. Negatives - where to start. Most unwelcoming staff who sit around and chat, use their phones loudly and also their laptops in the guest lounge, and bar whilst you are trying to relax. They even sat on the ONLY sofa in the bar one night. They also play loud unnecessary musak, and worse they allow two dogs to run around and jump on you, beg for food. If you are allergic to, or don't like dogs dont go here. No service offered, you feel totally unwelcome. Your queries met with shrug of shoulders and you get no answer until you ask again. You can almost hear a sigh of relief when you go to your room. It was a struggle to organise a taxi with them and was rip off price which they insisted we pay in cash. Food is at best adequate, not in the least authentic turkish cooking. Coronation chicken, and chocolate mousse one night! A very burnt lasagne another evening and pudding was an apple sliced up. No restaurants around here just a couple of guest houses in the nearby village. Captive customers. We asked for a picnic for day walking and got one dry apple and bit of bread with a slice of cucumber and cheese in it. Inedible. Maybe no one cares about this hotel, it's just some money parked up in the country. That's what it looks like, as other people commenting on these same issues. Nothing seems to improve..... On our ten day trip these were the most unfriendly people we met. They had very few guests, 6 of us one night, 4 the next, just us the last night. We were on a 3 night stay of a self guided walking holiday so had no choice but to stay here as organised for us.

The Lighthouse is nestled in the hills next to the village of Gey. It is a stunning location with so much potential but the staff have not been trained in how to give hospitality to their guests. It’s as if they begrudge having to share this space with visitors. The dining area has also become their office and creative work space taking over several tables. Whilst having our dinner the staff watched TV on their phones whilst also having their dinner too but with TV and music on in the background as well. A most disappointing experience. Such a shame. Put in some staff who really want to be welcoming and hospitable.

The place is literally in heaven. Great location with a superb view. Rooms were amazing with Jacuzzi in room but most importantly to wake up on the outstanding view. food was great & very hospitable staff, just like Home. Highly recommended for your vacations.
