Baymont by Wyndham Columbia Northwest

Front desk agents rude. Bathroom was dirty when I checked in. Dirty blankets on bed. They never cleaned the room. Someone passed away in the room next to me and they refused to change my room. Left the door open to air out. There were roaches in the bathroom. You have to make your own “ Complementary breakfast” which was only a waffle. They kept the pool chained. Had to keep going to the front desk to have them open. Balcony door didn’t open. I was told not all the doors open and maybe the room I was in was one of them. I will NEVER stay in this place again. HORRIBLE experience. Stay anywhere else but here!!!!

We stayed at a Baymont by Wyndham last night in Columbia, SC. We used our points for this stay. I only mention this because it felt like we were being punished for using our points. When we got to the room the door was wide open and the room was obviously under construction. We noticed that there was no smoke detector on the wall, just a hole where one would be (see pictures). There was an extremely unsafe lamp, still plugged in, with a piece of metal sticking out of the socket (see pictures). Which my husband unplugged. There was a puddle under the sink, which was obviously leaking, that kept getting bigger. The room was dirty, there was hair and orange gunk in the corners of the bathroom, that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years (see pictures). Worst of all, there was no handle with lock on the sliding door to the pool, as it was sitting on the air conditioning unit (see pictures). The hotel didn't even bother to put a stick in the tracks so it could not be opened from the outside. When the front desk agent came down to the room he just shrugged at what we pointed out, as if it was no big deal, and would not change our room. We decided to stay anyways as there was 3 of us, 2 female and 1 male, and we had been driving for 10 hours from Florida. This is not the standards we have come to expect from Wyndham as we always stay with you when away from home, and for the most part have been happy with our stays. Also, the continental breakfast at this establishment only had 1 type of bread, apples and a waffle maker. I in the past we have had at least a selection of breads and pastries and options for fruits.

The sink and tub did not drain properly. Room was smelly. Management did switch out our room. But Continental breakfast was only waffles, toast, instant cereal packets cranberry and apple juice. They didn’t provide extra towels. Only will give new towels if you bring back the old towel.

Wasn't able to stay they wanted to charge me cash only for deposit so I didn't stay

Good environment

This hotel was having an internet outage and we couldn't use a credit card, had to pay cash. No one relayed this ahead of my arrival, what if I didn't have that much cash on me?
