Castello Delle Serre

On April 24, 2025, I left on an unforgettable journey from McAllen, Texas, to Rome to celebrate my birthday. With eager anticipation, I planned my stay and couldn't wait to explore the beauty of Tuscany, especially my destination: Castello delle Serre, affectionately dubbed "The Castle." It is in the village Serre di Rapolano, which is close to Siena and a short distance from Chianti, Florence, Montalcino, Montepulciano, and Pienza. My stay at the Castle was originally 7 nights; however, on the day I was going to check out, I extended it for 2 more nights. The best part of my birthday celebration was my decision to stay at the Castle for 9 nights. In researching hotels in Tuscany, I found a review by Cindy Chupack, a travel enthusiast who described her perfect stay at the Castle, while visiting Tuscany. She described how Kaci and Anthony, managers/owners of the Castle helped her and her daughter plan their days while in Tuscany. Each day, Kaci and Anthony helped them plan day trips to different locations within Tuscany, including helping them make dinner reservations at great restaurants. I felt drawn to the Castle. Cindy's words painted a picture of relaxation and beauty that was impossible to resist. Additionally, I came across various travel agencies that strongly recommended the Castle—undeniably, it felt like a sign. Without hesitation, I booked my stay in the enchanting Tower Suite. When I arrived at the Castle on April 27, 2025, I was warmly greeted by Anthony and Kaci. Anthony drove my car to the private parking lot, while Kaci escorted me to my Tower Suite. Although I had seen photos on the Castle's website, the reality was breathtaking—a truly magical place. My Tower Suite was extraordinary, stretching across three stories: the first floor featured a cozy living room and bathroom; the second floor, a luxurious bedroom with stunning views of the Castle and surrounding village of Serre di Rapolano; and the third floor boasted a private patio with lounge chairs, perfect for soaking in the serene atmosphere and reflecting on the blessings of life. I found my experience from the beginning, amazing . Each morning, I enjoyed breakfast on the outdoor patio, taking in the stunning Tuscan countryside. I savored the fragrance of orange blossoms, listened to birds chirping, and delighted in indulging my taste buds with cappuccinos and a decadent chocolate croissants, often followed by a sumptuous breakfast of eggs, prosciutto, and cheese. I spent my mornings in the present moment, soaking in the beauty of my surroundings. It was very relaxing and amazing. I was so proud of myself for being in the present and taking in the beauty surrounding the Castle. Afterward, I would chat with Kaci, who always had great recommendations for sightseeing and where to dine. As my trip unfolded, I had the pleasure of meeting Priscilla and Martha, who joined me for the final days of my adventure. Together, we enjoyed delightful dinners at the Castle an

Great place with wonderful hosts! Can’t recommend it enough. Quiet peaceful village is a perfect base for exploring the rest of Tuscany by car. The Castle pool is the best place to unwind after touring around - enjoy a beer or wine and relax at the end of the day! The pool apartment was perfect for our family of 5.

Who Wouldn't want to stay in a castle? The hosts are incredible, the food delicious and they know every in and out of Tuscany. My room was huge and had a view of the valley and hills below. The pool area is spectacular with views of the little village below. I stayed here 20 years ago and was so happy to be back.

The entire experience staying at Castello delle Serre was top notch. Kaci and Antonio are wonderful hosts. They also have great staff providing excellent service in the restaurant and the rooms. The cooking demonstration by Antonio was a highlight for our group. You cannot go wrong staying at the castle. The passion of Kaci and Antonio come out every day.

This is a true B&B experience and the grounds and rooms are high caliber for those with particular tastes. Antonio knows the area so well and custom fit our one touring day with the best towns and views. A family member needed prescription medicine and he made a call to the walking distance pharmacy and we had it ready in a moment, btw they have a doctor on site at the unimaginably big city quality pharmacy and crazy reasonable prices. Make sure to walk the village, and I recommend a smaller car as the area is very tight roads. Do the on site dinner when offered, the chef is AMAZING. And the pictures you get of sunset, the castle grounds, etc. are instantly iconic. My family was hesitant to stay in a restored castle, but told me after that this was a great castle and they would happily stay again. I am not used to feeling such personal service and warmth, and this has it in spades. Only thing that surprised me is that it was flanked by rows of village buildings and perched up high with the grounds at the top of the castle, I had pictured more of a castle alone on a hill, but the village in the morning proved an amazing unanticipated charm and rich cultural heritage.
