I’m currently staying at Grupotel Camp de Mar, and I’ve been thoroughly impressed. For a 4-star property, it truly shines above its rating. Food & Dining: I’m staying on a half-board basis, and the food has been plentiful and tasty. Breakfast offers a good selection of both continental and cooked options, with a pleasant surprise – real bacon instead of the usual cooked ham – a definite 10/10 for me. Juices and hot drinks are included at breakfast, though evening meal drinks are chargeable. The pool bar serves nice cocktails, and while drinks and snacks are enjoyable, the salad didn’t quite live up to its price point. For lunch, I highly recommend heading to the beach – Maria 5 Beach is a true hidden gem with amazing views and great food. Pool & Beach: The pool area is well kept, clean, and tidy. Lifeguards are on duty and have been both efficient and friendly. There are plenty of sunbeds, and although some mattresses are a little worn, they do the job. The pool overlooks the breathtaking beach and the well-known Restaurant Illeta – a beautiful spot, though I personally wouldn’t recommend dining there due to its poor reputation for service and the difficulty booking as a solo traveler. The public beach sun loungers cost €16 per day. There is also a lovely animation man who offered actives through the day loved aqua gym Room & Facilities: I booked a sea view twin/double room on the 4th floor, and it was a welcome surprise. The room is beautifully designed with lots of storage and excellent lighting, including a large, well-lit mirror by a plug and seat for doing hair and makeup, plus a full-length mirror. The bathroom is clean and stylish. Housekeeping has been fantastic – everything is spotless. There’s also a handy supermarket just down the stairs from the pool area to the right for lunch and essentials. Plus there is a beautiful ice cream shop to the left of the stairs which I have visited daily as it has been delicious Other Highlights: The TUI welcome meeting with Aiden was informative and helpful, offering great local tips and maps. Overall: This hotel has been exactly what I needed – comfortable, well-kept, and relaxing. While small touches like salad quality and worn mattresses could be improved, the overall experience has been excellent. I would happily recommend Grupotel Camp de Mar to anyone looking for a beautiful, relaxing stay in this area. Areas for Improvement: The pool toilets could be improved – the soap dispensers barely worked, and the lights switch off after around 10 seconds, which is inconvenient. Updating these small details would make a big difference to the overall experience.
