Bio Motel

Clean, safe, convenient stop over hotel. Very clean rooms with everything you need for a night. We asked for two adjacent rooms to account for our family and that was arranged. We called ahead as traffic meant we were arriving close to the 21.00 last check in time and everything was smooth on arrival. Very easy to find just off the A5 and parking is semi secure and directly outside your room door. There is a system they operate for breakfast which is sensible and keeps service slick - take a seat and things will be brought for you - it’s not a buffet. All in all a good experience and made our long drive home from South of France to Calais comfortable. Not quite sure what the ‘bio’ bit means as there is no obvious bio element - installation of car chargers might tick that box. Recommended.

I have never been spoken to in such a rude manner in my entire life! At the time of booking, I indicated we would arrive around 9pm (we actually arrived at 9:04). The manager phoned me twice in the proceeding half hour to ask where we were. The room was perfunctory and ok, although other than the wood cladding on the outside of the building, I don’t know what makes it ‘eco’. Breakfast was interesting - a buffet, but Madame insisted on serving us and I had a row for helping myself to coffee. Disappointingly, there were no dairy-free options, which seems as odds with the ‘eco’ selling point. The tin hat though was the absolutely appalling way in which the Monsieur spoke to me. We had the audacity (!) to bring my husband’s very expensive bike in our room with us for safety. We were already settled for the night and the Monsieur knocked on the door, shouted at me in French with all sorts of expletives because we had the bike in our room. Unfortunately for Monsieur, I speak French and understood every word and was able to defend myself rather admirably. His antics were repeated on my husband prior to leaving too. Needless to say, we will not return to pay to be subjected to such aggressive and rude behaviours, and I strongly recommend that urgent customer service training is provided to the managers.
