Would not recommend if you have children! We went for a family meal and the table next to us had a young child playing, he was not causing any trouble no loud noises etc simply being a child, the behaviour from the staff and the locals to the woman looking after the child was disgusting. They asked she moved outside because the the “ noise” this child was causing no problems and it wasn’t busy so he wasn’t in anyone’s way, she took him outside however we could hear the staff and locals sat around bar talking about the pair in a simply unprofessional and inappropriate way. The staff came over to our table to apologise for the “ noise” there was absolutely no reason for them to ask the people to go outside, poor customer service and a terrible look.

We arrived late as it was an impromptu stay! The staff were warm, friendly and accommodating, The room we had was done out to a high standard and we had a great sleep as the bed was very comfy. Breakfast was also nice, especially the scrambled egg.. the best I've ever had! The only slight issue was the smell of paint where they must have recently decorated, however our overall stay was perfect. I would definitely go back.

Visiting the area on business needed quick overnight. The Bennett Arms fitted the bill perfectly. Food and beer good. Log fire made it toasty warm locals chatty, staff really friendly and welcoming. Rooms simple and warm, bed comfy, fluffy towels, tea coffee. Yes bathroom could do with a little tlc,but ok. Barmaid ( sorry didn't catch name ) works too hard. Nice location.

Lovely country guesthouse in a beautiful location. FRiendly reception, nice spacious room, good bathroom. Dinner was delicious, as was the cooked breakfast. Lovely old pub with local gins and ciders. Travelling with my daughter. We enjoyed our stay very much, Shame about the rain..... Tip: sturdy handrails in the bath. Being slightly disabled and of a ripe age, it is my fear to slip and fall in the bath.

Travelling to our holiday destination we saw signs for the Bennett Arms from the A303. A little persistence is needed but it is well worth it! We were greeted in a very friendly manner and had a fish platter for lunch which was really nice, homemade chips as well. We were going to book and stay don our way home but sadly they were fully booked Well done to you all, a really nice experience

I am reviewing the restaurant separately to the accommodation. We had dinner here once. I had steak & kidney pie. It was superb! definitely home cooked & the best I've ever had. My wife & daughter enjoyed their selection as well.

A warm welcome with a lovely log burner in the cosy bar. Good pub grub in the evening and an excellent breakfast in the morning- all individually prepared. Rooms were basic but clean and comfortable. A real ale pub with a good choice of keg beers.

We chose to stay here to break an evening journey from London to Devon. A very attractive setting and building. Quaint cosy pub with more modern rooms at the rear. We had a very warm reception. The room was fairly spacious,clean and comfortable. Bathroom quite basic. We had a little food and drink in the bar before retiring for the night. The food was very good and an impressive selection of beers. Breakfast was included in the price, pre ordered the evening before. It was very nicely done, great quality bacon and sausage. I would recommend this pub for a night and a meal.
