Holiday Inn Express & Suites ST. Petersburg - Madeira Beach

Great hotel, very close to Madeira Beach (5 min drive) and with a Walmart just right next to it, which is very conveniente to buy things to take for your beach day. Rooms are quite big and comfortable, with microwaves but no hairdryer. Breakfast is good although I think they should provide real cutlery and plates instead of the disposables that are available.

The primary visit to this area was because we were attending a friends wedding nearby, so after a lot of research of hotels in the area this hotel kept coming up, so went ahead and booked it, and it’s fair to say that we didn’t regret it at all! Little bit of confusion upon check in which had no impact on us whatsoever and had the receptionist not apologised we would have been none the wiser. We were also pleasantly surprised that breakfast was included with our stay as we had been informed by our travel agent that it was room only. Lovely clean and spacious room, actually all amenities were all really well maintained, not a single complaint at all. I was concerned that they were doing some decorating outside our room, but were very considerate and didn’t disturb us at all. Plenty of choices for breakfast so given we weren’t expecting it, it was very welcome, and absolutely delicious (especially the turkey sausages with pancakes!) my only slight criticism would be the paper plates and plastic cutlery. And finally the hospitality was outstanding, every single person we spoke to was really welcoming and helpful, it would be unfair to give specific names as everyone was great and we didn’t catch all their names. The little shuttle bus was also great, we could go anywhere within a 5 mile radius and arrange a pickup pretty much every hour, which was just brilliant! I’ve stayed in a lot of Holiday Inns and by far this excels all of them, so a big pat on the back to a great team! We’ll definitely be back!
