Good stay, good internet
Comfortable room, got a bit cold during the night but nothing major. Most importantly, decent internet. A bit of a wall to get to it but once on it was good!

We booked this stay very last minute but were delighted we chose to stay here. Room was a very good size and comfortable. Staff were incredibly attentive and happy to help in any way they good. We had both dinner and breakfast in the hotel and food was freshly cooked and tasty. We would definitely stay again if in the area

Visited again, 19 years after hosting our wedding reception. The Philipburn is still a lovely hotel, lots of charm and atmosphere and a great location. We were looked after brilliantly by Adrian, the new owner / operator, a real gentleman! Already looking forward to our next visit.

Had a very mixed experience at Philipburn. Hotel was comfortable, (stayed in lodge room 16), and the one breakfast I had was good. I stayed as part of a large group and on the first night of two night's stay, two of my party were involved in a heated argument with the hotel manager over plates & cutlery being used for a takeaway. The hotel over-reacted and acted in an unprofessional manner over a misunderstanding. Shouting at guests is simply not acceptable. This event soured both my stay and the stay of everyone in the group. So much so that we felt no option but to cancel the dinner we were due to have at the hotel the following night, (and losing the deposit already paid). Comfortable hotel but in our case, a terrible attitude from the manager.

Service with a smile
My sister and I had a two night stay here whilst heading for a concert at Floors Castle
Manager Marie was so warm and welcoming as were her staff.
