Umut Otel & Beach Selimiye

We've been vacationing in Selimiye for years. When both our regular guesthouses were full, we were fooled by the positive reviews and went to Umut Pension. We were sure they'd written all those positive reviews off to friends and family. Even a modest family like us, with no high expectations, was left disappointed. We stayed in a bungalow. The cleanliness was good, but the beds were terrible. The child squeaked every time he moved. Our bed also squeaked and was uncomfortable. One of the sheets had a patched seam, the other had holes. Breakfast was good, but there are much better guesthouses in Selimiye offering the same price, and with a sea view. The hotel owner, Serdar Bey, was a strangely ineffective man who felt compelled to mention his METU degree in the first sentence he spoke to everyone he met, including those visiting the beach from outside. He even consulted his naive, patronizing wife about making tea. If his wife didn't approve, we couldn't even pay for it. One woman was publicly scolded for bringing snacks from outside, while her relatives lavishly ate sunflower seeds on the pier. They'd throw towels over the best sun loungers the night before to accommodate their own relatives. While Selimiye Bay boasts so many hospitable establishments, with generous minds, attentive to every detail, from hammocks to canoes, this is the place to go when you absolutely must be in Selimiye and can't find any other hotel. The sea is equally crystal clear throughout the bay. It's not pleasant to wait all year for a holiday and then stumble upon a hotel with such a small heart. While searching for a guesthouse this summer, I stumbled across it online and couldn't resist writing about it.

While planning a day trip to Selimiye, we stayed at the property, where we felt comfortable—four adults and one child. The rooms were clean, and the food and drinks we ate and drank for breakfast were delicious. We also felt comfortable by the sea. I'd like to thank Serdar Bey and his team.

Selimiye’de denize sıfır otel ararken buldum. İyiki de bulmuşum. Otele değil de sahiplerinin evine misafir gelmişiz gibi ağırlandık. Serdar Bey, Seval Hanım başta olmak üzere tüm çalışanlar çok kibar ve ilgili. Odalar rahat, klima ***et iyi soğutuyordu. Temizlik ve hijyen de iyi sağlanmıştı. Kahvaltısı çok lezzetli. Akşam yemeklerini denizin hemen yanına kurulan masalarda yiyebilirsiniz. Yediğim her şey çok lezzetliydi. Otoparkı vardı ki gelince anladım bu bölgede otopark ciddi sıkıntıymış. Denizi çok temiz. İskele üzerinde de şezlonglar var. Çok memnun kaldım, tekrar gideceğim.

Pansiyon tatili sevenler için birebirdir. Kahvaltısı çok güzel. Her şeyiyle organik ve yeterli. Otel sahil tarafında bundan dolayı denizle girilecek yer kendisinin. 7 oda olduğundan dolayı da ferah ferah denize giriliyor. Kalabalık bir durum yok. Bahçesi çok güzel. Ağaçlar altında çocuklu ailer için birebir. Odalar temiz. Pansiyon sahipleri ve çalışanlar son derece ilgili ve güler yuzlu
