El Portal opens the door to time for us and takes us back to the old days. Snuggle up on the sofa in front of the fireplace, listen to the crackle of the fire, and look at the artistic furniture, paintings and crafts around you, and feel fully relaxed and comfortable. What's especially valuable is that I met the owner and his wife of the hotel, and read the brochure written by the husband, which deepened my understanding and affection for this place. Today we leave with gratitude and full of memories. The beautiful memories will remain in our hearts forever! It is recommended that you read the booklet written by the male owner.

If you’re looking for a quiet setting with beautiful rooms, excellent amenities and the service to match this is your destination. The rooms were large and very comfortable. Everything worked really well including the shower. They even have s’mores in the evening.! This is a pet friendly hotel.

We just spent 3 days at El Portal. Steve and Connie have created a wonderful place of understated elegance and luxury. The rooms are each unique and very comfortable. The “great room “ provides a place to relax and chat or read. The courtyard in the evening with a fire and glass of wine is unsurpassed.

One of my new favorite hotels anywhere. The owners and staff make you feel like you're a guest in their home. The rooms are fantastic, quiet and very serene. They are pet friendly and go above and beyond to make sure your fur baby is comfy. Compared to other much higher prices in Sedona, this is by far the best option. We'll be back.

Having stayed at many places, this is on my list of most memorable. Best way I can describe is that it feels like the comfort and relaxed vibe of a bed and breakfast but with the privacy and quiet elegance of an upscale hotel . The bed was so comfortable, the shower better than at home ! I loved being able to grab a coffee or snack at anytime- I feel this was very considerate and generous on the part of the owners . The staff/ owners were so helpful and gave us the best tips . When we finished our hikes and outings, it felt like coming home ! My only wish is that we had more time to just relax and bum around in the hotel for a day so I could admire all the beautiful artwork ! Just beautiful and loved seeing the dogs . Loved all of Sedona but staying here really made our trip special.

My girlfriend and I really enjoyed this unique architectural gem. The owners were active and around to answer questions and invited/encouraged us to enjoy their hospitality. Copious snacks, non-alcoholic drinks, and wine for a small charge were really appreciated. The communal atmosphere in the courtyard allowed us to meet travelers from across the country and share experiences about what to do and where to go/dine. I would return to El Portal in an heartbeat!

What a wonderful Sedona gem! This quaint boutique hotel / resort is so special - 12 unique rooms, pet friendly and tranquil serenity at every corner. The “big room” is filled with ambiance and the convenient honor bar and complimentary food/snack area is very appreciated. Next time we return to Sedona, this will be our first place to book.

This place is a gem! Such an incredible stay here, room was fantastic, bed was comfortable, staff and owners friendly and informative. The complimentary snacks and drinks kept us going on our early morning hikes and adventures. I can’t say enough good things about this property!!! We will definitely be back

One of the most delightful hotels we’ve stayed at anywhere in the world. So many personal touches. The decor is beautiful, service is outstanding, and location is perfect. Easy walk to lots of shopping and restaurants. We would definitely go back!
