Reception - a young, tie half-mast - whose first words were “buletin’ not “bine ai venit”. What a miserable young man. I was given a room at the back of beyond - up in the lift, down some stairs, up some more stairs then down a corridor with a suitcase (I’m 70) - thanks mate. The room was dark and gloomy. On one wall, was a ‘window’ looking at a wall only 15cm away! Can you believe it? The other window looked down a gap between two walls so little natural light penetrated the room. The window only had a curtain which covered half the window! See photo. The air conditioning didn’t seem to work and the temperature remained at more than 26C all night. Breakfast was in a depressing, soulless and depressing room. It wax OK but thankfully forgettable. I had my evening meal in the hotel’s separate restaurant and that was poor. Overall a disappointing stay in a hotel which is NOT 4*.
