Built at the end of the 15th century and rebuilt three centuries later, the story goes that it was from the balconies of the Palácio dos Arcos that King Manuel I watched the Portuguese caravels set sail for India.
Used to hosting royalty - who sought out these rooms to watch regattas on the River Tagus - the Vila Galé Collection Palácio de Arcos hotel is the Vila Galé group's first five-star unit in Portugal
Opened in 2013, this charming hotel in Lisbon, the result of the restoration of historic heritage, is dedicated to the theme of poetry, combining the tradition of a century-old palace with the comfort of a modern space. Walking around this hotel between Cascais and Lisbon means crossing paths with Florbela Espanca, Fernando Pessoa, Vinícius de Moraes or Eugénio de Andrade. The poems of these and other authors bring the common areas to life and decorate the walls of the rooms.
With a stay at Vila Gale Collection Palacio dos Arcos, you'll be centrally located in Oeiras, within a 15-minute drive of Belém Tower and Avenida da Liberdade.
With 76 rooms, the balconies that open onto the sea invite you to relax, savoring the view or reading to get into the spirit of this boutique hotel.
"There is a sofa bed in the room that children can use. The room faces the outdoor swimming pool and the sea, and you can see the sunset, which is very beautiful. Next to the hotel is about 5 minutes walk, there is a community laundry room, about 10 minutes there are supermarkets, pharmacies, hospitals. We are driving by ourselves, so we don't know much about the surrounding traffic. The hotel’s breakfast is very good, you can also have dinner, the waiter is very nice👍."
