Super 8 by Wyndham Chambersburg I-81

I have stayed in a lot of motels but this one has got to be the nastiest one I have ever attempted to stay at. I was booked for 3 days but left the first evening..Only got refunded for 2 nights. This place needs to be inspected by the health and fire marshall .

Their was NO smoke detector in the room. The bedside lamp was broken. Milk served at the breakfast was spoiled. Breakfast was basically none existent!

To begin with I requested and was confirmed for a room with 1 queen bed from the ******* online web site. At check in I was surprised to be given a room with with two full beds. I filled out the ******* per-check in registration that was promised to save me time, (it didn't as this Super 8 "don't have that"). I also filled out an ******* online form requesting a late check out time which also was a waste of time as this Super 8 does have that online stuff. Still it had a nice pool according to the ******* web site, the web site fails to mention that the pool is closed for renovation. As for the room, a hair on the pillow case and rouge on another pillow case presumably from a previous guest. To the mold in the bath tub mat to the "brown substance" on the grab rail behind the toilet to the hold in the bathroom door. While I did not expect a four star hotel for price I paid, I did expect a clean room and fresh linen.

It was very nice. Easy checkin. Breakfast was very minimal. Not as good as other places.

Don't recommend Staff is friendly, room smelled and it looked like there was pee on the wall. The blanket had stains. Glad it was only for one day. The pictures are deceiving

The woman who worked the front desk when I checked in was amazing, so kind. She is the only reason why I rated staff a three. She gets a five star rating by herself. The hotel itself and all the other staff I’d dealt with from this hotel? Two stars. The “breakfast” listed is literally cereal, toast, muffins or granola bars. Don’t expect to not buy breakfast if you want something more. The hotel room we were given reeked of stale smoke and mildew. We brought both of our dogs and one of them puked on the second bed in the room. We requested someone to just bring us a bed spread for us to replace. We explained multiple times to the staff we were uncomfortable letting them in our room while we were there with our dogs, yet they would not allow us to put our own bed spread on the bed that was soiled, causing our dogs to become upset. There are also people who are permanently staying in the hotel that also had animals. The entire time we were at this location, there were two other dogs that were constantly barking. The walls were super thin and you could hear EVERYTHING. It’s good for a cheap place to stay, but if you have back problems, the beds are not for you. I’d also recommend bringing some type of spray or plug in to make the room smell better while you’re there. Not worth more than $40-50 a night.
