We booked 2 apartments with 2 beds each, 1 year in advance of our visit: 1 for my husband and I (who was going to celebrate his 50th birthday there) and the other for our 2 teenage children. Then just a month before our departure, the owner told us that one of the apartments had already booked by telephone months earlier but they had forgotten to put it on the system! This meant that we had to cancel the other apartment as we needed to stay together as a family. She offered to find something else for us in the village, we waited more than a week but she never returned to us. We were extremely annoyed at the way we had been treated and the anxiety and inconvenience that she caused us. We don’t believe a word of what she said. Where was the telephone booking recorded if it wasn’t recorded on the system? If the booking wasn’t on the system, then it’s not a proper booking!! Why would you have 2 forms of recording bookings – that is just asking for trouble - errors can be easily made! I spent the next 3 weeks emailing dozens of Fewos in Schoenau which were all booked out, which is exactly why we booked Hölzl one year in advance! We eventually found something way out of town but had to drive in each day. If you don’t want English people staying with you, you shouldn’t advertise on ***********!!
