The room is big enough, the quilt is a bit thin, and the air conditioning is not very effective. The front desk service is very good, the communication is smooth, and the restaurant is not bad

This is my worst hotel experience. I have stayed in many hotels, from express hotels to five-star hotels at home and abroad. I am also considered the most loyal user of Ctrip. I trust Ctrip and book with Ctrip everywhere I go. I went to Chicago for a meeting. My order fee was much more expensive than that of my friends who were attending the meeting together. As long as the service was good, it didn’t matter if it was expensive. I didn’t care if I didn’t care about it when I was away. I booked for five nights, but the room was not cleaned the next day because I was attending The meeting lasted from morning to night, so I thought it might be a mistake, so I just made do with it, but after staying for one day, it started not being cleaned again. I stayed for five nights and there was no cleaning for two days. I was very confused: Is it a tip? If it’s less, do you still think Chinese people are dirty? Racist? Do you need to clean the room yourself? This is the service that my room cost is more expensive than others. I must write about the bad experience!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights (Aug 14-17). We were very disappointed in a few things. Upon arrival to our room (306) we found that there was no chair at the work desk nor was there a small sofa as shown in all of the room photos on the website. The ONLY place to sit was the bed. Since my husband was attending a stamp show at the hotel, I was hoping to spend some time in the room on my computer, watching TV and crocheting my current project. The front desk explained that due to the recent renovation the chair and sofa were removed and they would no longer be providing them. I spoke to a few other folks who did have a chair at the work desk at least. This was very inconvenient and surprising so I went back to the front desk to inquire. They looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language. Not a single person apologized for the inconvenience. There was no remote control for the TV in the room. Called down and they brought one within an hour or so. We had to have maintenance come for a toilet running loudly at about 10-minute intervals. It kept doing it afterwards but much less often. The cold water tap in the bathroom would just swivel around. Had to find the exact spot in the circle that would stop the flow. Had I seen this earlier I would have told the maintenance man who ‘fixed’ the toilet. Since I am Titanium with Bonvoy I had access to the lounge on the 15th floor. On Friday morning (Aug 15th) while having breakfast in the lounge I went over to the cooler to get bottles of orange juice for my husband and I. We were seated at a table in the lounge. All of the orange juices were on the bottom shelf all the way to the back of the cooler and I couldn’t kneel on the floor to try to grab them due to knee issues. When I asked one of the attendants if they could please get me two orange juices, I was lectured loudly by her that there were ‘thousands of people in the hotel and if everyone took two back to their room there wouldn’t be any left’. When I explained that my husband and I were sitting over there with our food and would EACH like a juice she did give them to me. The lounge is closed after breakfast on Fridays and doesn’t open again until Sunday evening. I would hope Marriott should re-think this policy. The front desk staff weren’t very welcoming or knowledgeable. They seemed surprised that I would complain about zero seating in a guest room. On a positive note, the hotel lobby level was lovely with many different seating areas. The food in the Gather lounge was very good. Bar staff were very good and friendly. Overall I would not return to this hotel if I were to be back in the area.

If I could give this hotel zero stars, I absolutely would. I don’t usually leave reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel—one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever had. And trust me, I’ve had my share of disappointing hotel experiences. When you hear “Renaissance,” you expect quality and cleanliness. Unfortunately, this hotel failed on almost every level. The room was filthy—there was mold in the tub, blood stains on the curtains, and what looked like feces on the bathroom wall. There wasn’t even a phone in the room. The TV and internet didn’t work for the first day, which made the situation even worse. They advertise a pool, but it was closed and looked just as dirty as everything else. The elevators were grimy, and one didn’t even have a working floor display—it was completely busted. When I asked the front desk to be moved to a different room, I was told they had no availability—despite the condition of my room. Since I had already paid in full and nearby hotels were booked, I had no choice but to stay. I ended up buying my own cleaning supplies just to make the room somewhat livable. This hotel does not live up to the Renaissance brand. I suspect it may be independently owned, but if it carries the Renaissance name, it should be held to corporate standards. I’ll also be reaching out to Marriott Corporate directly about the state of this property. Stay elsewhere if you can—this place is unacceptable.

In town for conference, and looking for an alternative to the event hotel. Renaissance Schaumburg reviews looked good (rightfully so) so booked and good to go. Have not been in Chicagoland since 2019, and clearly the traffic remains a challenge so thankful to not have to go downtown. Conference was almost exactly a mile away and thankful for finding this property. Check-in mid-evening was a breeze, front desk team super friendly and helpful, and was quickly up to room to drop bags. Have Ambassador Elite status currently and was blessed with a corner room which I think was an upgrade. Impeccably clean room, tasteful decor and though it was a sweet 99 degrees and spotty rain showers, the room AC was dialed and held a comfortable temperature. Down to restaurant for a late dinner. Enjoyed a NY ***** which was perfectly cooked (medium rare) and a quality old fashioned. Random perspective, but when an establishment does a good job on a classic like an old fashioned, its a good sign. Bar staff service timing was just right and in general, my dining experience was very enjoyable. Really trying to avoid plastic bottles, and though the vending machines have plastic bottles, you can purchase glass sparkling water and spring water at the front desk. Its a little detail I happened to notice and VERY much appreciated! Of note, woke up at 0330 second day parched, and went down to front desk in the middle of the night - Stacy who I believe was doing the night auditing was so kind and helpful with what was a simple purchase of a couple waters, really reflected what was an enjoyable stay. Bed was comfortable and supportive, none of the mattress sag that tends to occur over time, and the pillows were dare I say, perfect as well. There is a Marriott Executive Lounge with light eats morning and evening to take the edge off as well. Feels somewhat odd to rave about a hotel from a business trip, but the combination of so many little things done right and consistency across elements of the property is a reflection of strong management. Will definitely be back when in the area!!!

Loud noise from construction
Drilling noise started at 10 am. Apparently they are refurbishing rooms on the 14th floor (I was on the 10th, and it was loud!)
I was informed when I called the front desk that it will be like this till 4pm. How do you even rent rooms where it is impossible to be from 10 till 4?
