The Esplanade Hotel

Had a a wonderful 4 days in Scarborough. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. The entertainment they put on was highly talented and professional and was a real plus to our holiday we did not expect. Add to this the cost of our holiday was very reasonable. strongly recommende it.

Stayed here for 1 night, good location, staff friendly, room nice and bed comfy. We managed to park right outside the hotel, you pay £2:50 to the hotel for the permit. The downside for us was breakfast, I thought I’d seen that it was a full English, but it’s not, it’s a bag outside your door containing a pastry, yogurt, porridge pot, banana etc each. Emma’s diner is a lovely place for breakfast though.

Just had a 4 night stay in the hotel. Superb location, staff couldn't do enough for you. Very friendly and helpful. Food and drink very good. Went with Daish's holidays, also good day trip to York. Weather good too. Would definitely recommend and hopefully return again also.

This hotel has a lot going for it with excellent entertainment, especially Joel, who we would have paid good money to see. All the staff throughout are friendly and helpful especially Franki and Gabriella behind the bar. The bedroom was a bit dated and tired but it was spotlessly clean and cleaned every day to a high standard. The only disappointment was we had paid £30 extra for a sea view room, but as our room was in the attic, you could only see the sea if you were standing up, unlike last year where we had a full sea view room with a table & chairs to have your coffee in the morning with an amazing view. The major negative was the dire service in the restaurant, an issue that was mentioned by a previous review a few weeks ago. We were sat in the same area mentioned by this reviewer and we would talk to diners coming in for their meals and again when they left, and on one occasion we hadn’t even started ours, and on the other occasions we were still eating ours. We would sit down for breakfast at 8:30 but always waited 35 minutes before our cooked breakfast arrived. To be honest it was annoying but it became a standard joke with the other diners sat in our area to try and guess who would be served first. Despite these couple of negatives we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return in the future, but hopefully to a different section in the restaurant.

We have just returned from The Esplanade and very happy with our stay. We did pay extra for a superior room which was spacious, very comfortable & immaculately clean. Not sure if all superior rooms have a sea view but I did request one and this was duly granted. The bathroom was big too with a walk in shower and nice fluffy towels. This is our 3rd daishs trip but this hotel is the one with the most helpful and friendly manager & staff. Nothing was too much trouble. So thankyou.The entertainment was very good and half price bar on 3 evenings a little bonus. It is at the top of a hill hence lovely views but not too bad to go into town or catch a bus to other resorts. Hopefully we will return later in the year.

Had a great time 2 couples Hotel dated but can't helpbeing old .Room very clean pillows and bedding Towels spotless . The staff and entertainment good .no complaints at all .would stay again The food was good especially the beef and Yorkshire pudding Service was good .couldn't have asked for more for price we paid .
