We pre-booked the hotel 6 months early on the basis of reviews read at the time. The pictures on the website were not current. After reading some very recent scathing reviews immediately prior to arriving at the hotel, we were pleasantly surprised to find that it was better than expected. The room was almost comfortable, though the room had a noticable slope towards the head of the bed. The ensuite was long and narrow but acceptable. The food was basic and not particularly inspiring. We'd rate the hotel as OK. If you're looking for a base to explore that has clean sheets and a clean room this may suit your needs.

Great Hotel! All the staff are very welcoming and friendly. Stayed in a corner room and had the best views of the sea from both sides. Location is perfect with shops within a short walking distance and amusement a short bus ride away. Had a great stay and will definitely be booking again. Bonus that you can reserve parking for the hotel.

Our room was amazing- booked a twin room with sea view (because we wanted a sea view) and ended up with a king size bed and 2 different sea views - lovely!

We had a 2 night stay here, on arrival our parking space had been reserved and would recommend doing this, our room a double standard was fine with all the space you need. We had room 6 and I would recommend you remove the bath and just have a shower cubicle as its to small to move around in currently. Also the room directly above us had bad floorboards, and we had someone in there who paced up and down which at times was not good. The bar area was nice and the beef sandwich was tasty with good thick beef. Would stay again but in a different room.

We came to Scarborough for an event at the Spa. The chosen hotel was booked out and we chose this because it had a carpark. The very old lift (younger than the hotel) was dis functional. The breakfast was adequate in quantity but the fruit was out of tins and only fried eggs available. There was no dinner only snacks at the bar. The bedroom was adequate but the shower head leaked and the one bed light did not work. There were no face cloths provided and the toilet paper of the lowest quality It is sad to see a previously excellent 3 or 4 star hotel deteriorate to a boarding house and charging as those it was still the former. The excellent reception staff and the breakfast bacon could not save it from a very poor assessment
