We were very impressed with this hotel and will definitely be staying again!! Our room was a very generous size for a double and it was immaculate. Very comfy bed too!! The location was good with only a short walk across the spa bridge to the town centre.

Friendly greeting on arrival, room was spotlessly clean and a comfy bed. Managed to park my car right outside and was given a disc with enough time on it until parking restrictions closed. As for some of the negative reviews recently.. It is on a quiet street It is not facing a park Is away from the square at the other end of the road Don’t understand their comments… Scored it a 4 is it isn’t a B&B nor a Hotel really as no amenities in it. Saying that, clean, comfy & safe is all that matters.

A really great stay and a truly warm welcome. The room was a good size and the beds were very comfortable. The location is perfect and a quick 10 minute walk to the town centre. Parking was easy also. I would say we will stay here again the next time we visit Scarborough.

Very clean and comfortable room. We stayed here for a week while holidaying in Scarborough. The room was serviced every day which was amazing, meaning that we came back to a clean, tidy room with fresh towels each day. The most comprehensive tea tray was left for us with a huge number of teabags, coffee sachets and milk plus biscuits and even a chocolate each on arrival. The Maynard is in a great location just a stroll away from the Esplanade. Breakfast at Rowntree Lodge was delicious. My favourite detail was the deco looking inner door in the entrance hallway - see photo. The only downside for us was the soundproofing, probably as it is an older building. At times it was quite noisy especially when other guests came back at night. Very good value for money.

Stayed Tuesday night for one night just me and my little girl. Such a lovely welcome by the owner. Room was spot on and had everything we needed. Nice hot shower and clean towels. Nice and quiet, no issues. On street parking and close to everything around us. Would definitely return.

Disgusting charges when this place is used for alcoholic and homeless drug ******* Police and ambulance always there three times in two days Awful place drunken fights window smashing I would urge all tourists to save your money and hassle paying to stay with these people is crazy No longer a holiday place

Claire, the owner/manager, is very friendly and welcoming. She gave us lots of information on the area and places to eat. Parking was easy, on the street near the hotel. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, servicing our room daily. The hotel is only 3-4 minutes walk from the cliff lift and paths down to South Bay near the Spa complex. Our room was large, with two double beds and two comfortable chairs to relax at the end of a busy day. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there should we visit Scarborough again.
