Baymont by Wyndham des Moines North

The most disgusting hotel I have ever stepped foot in. Do not stay at this hotel. Garbages were overflowing, grass was knee high, floors were not vacuumed and had debris on them, entrances had live rat traps and junk laying around. And after canceling because of the filth, no one ever answers the number given to us for a refund. Baymont reservations has tried to contact them and they do not answer. Had to make a dispute with my credit card in order to get my money back.

This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had!! No one should ever stay here!! Problems from the get go. Room was not ready at check-in. No towels until the next day. TV didn't work. Wi-fi didn't work. Toilet didn't work. They fixed nothing. Breakfast was horrible. Told me that my stay would be free. But then they charged me the full amount and I have tried a hundred times, but they won't answer the phone. Corporate was no help.

Just don’t. This hotel was so terrible, filthy, unkept, and I can’t believe they are still in business. We were in town for the Iowa State Fair and a concert, so places were sold out. Check-in is at 3pm and people were waiting while the front desk clerk didn’t look at or talk to anyone. It felt like we must have received one of their best rooms simply because we had air conditioning and towels. Others were complaining because their air didn’t work, and one guy had NO towels or soap in his room and they didn’t do anything about it. It’s so bad, we told people who hadn’t checked in yet to do themselves a favor and RUN!

Absolutely disgusting. Filthy and there's cockroaches. We left and went to another hotel. The manager wasn't on the premises and they left this poor kid at the front desk by himself to deal with all the complaints. 6 other people were getting refunded when I was there. Horrible. Do not stay here.

DO NOT STAY HERE. This place is dangerous, disgusting, and nothing like the photos. I felt genuinely unsafe the entire time. There was blood on the floor, the door was completely busted with no lock, and the room was filthy beyond belief—grime, trash, and zero care put into cleanliness. The hotel is next to an abandoned building and surrounded by sketchy foot traffic and unhoused individuals loitering right outside the entrance. The pool? Completely destroyed. The entire place looks like it hasn’t been maintained in years. This isn’t just a bad experience—it’s a health and safety hazard. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone under any circumstance. It needs to be shut down or taken over by new ownership ASAP. Photos are 100% misleading. Avoid at all costs

No wifi. No continental breakfast. Black mold on ceiling in bathroom above shower. Rude staff. Sent message to customer care and they didn't do anything to help. Just referred me back to the property.
