Savasi Island Resort

The Lagoon villa we stayed in was lovely. Clean, nicely furnished, comfy bed, crisp, white sheets. Two sinks in bathroom, large open shower. We spent alot of time sitting out by our small, private pool. It was so peaceful. The staff, beginning with Ma, was seriously friendly and so helpful. Not the best resort for off-the-beach snorkeling. The tides are extreme. You have to catch them right in the middle between low and high to avoid stronger currents. We did take a free kayak out in front of the hotel's restaurant and the snorkeling was good. Large tropical fish darting around, with lots of deeper areas all connecting through the rocks. Plus, there are daily snorkeling tours to other well-known snorkeling and diving spots, like Split Rock. Best for last: amazing food, huge portions, 3 big meals a day, always with appetizer, dessert and big smiles from the restaurant staff. Try to catch a night when Rico's singing. He's got a beautiful voice, especially when he's crooning native Fijian music.

Magical place Sawasi is a magical place, with such a beautiful natural setting with lots of "secret paths", rock outcroppings on the ocean shore, canals to kayak on, exotic birds and bats flying at dusk, beautiful flowers, amazing food, wonderful people! We stayed on Serenity, an old refurbished cruise ship. Nice experience but the Serenity could benefit from an upgrade (carpets, etc). The bed was very comfortable, sheets, towels, high quality. We had a great time and rated it 5 stars.

A huge thank you to all at the Savasi Island Resort who made our stay simply wonderful. From the moment of arrival at the Savusavu airport until our departure one week later, we were embraced as welcome visitors and offered the warmest of thoughtful, gracious and sensitive attention. Our assigned bure went well beyond any expectations and was perfect for the moment. A place of tranquility and respite after a hectic vacation was just what was needed. We have to admit spending a lot of time in the beautiful private infinity pool taking in the life of the seashore while simply cooling down in the beautiful tropical weather. It was such a joy to not only experience personal attention but to witness how staff interacted with other visitors, especially those with young children. An establishment run very professionally, there exists a well organized structure for delivery of services with plenty of flexibility to accommodate individual needs. All staff we interacted with were very sensitive to the well being of guests. A well thought out menu was featured well prepared locally grown foods, much of which comes from their own gardens. Food was prepared and served with well deserved pride; we enjoyed eating often amidst the sounds of staff singing joyfully as they went about their business, often taking a little time to dance with child visitors. Service was timely and the food very good. We left feeling we'd been offered a just tiny peek into Fijian Culture. The richness of the culture is apparent in context, and a willingness to engage in thoughtful conversation left us with much to reflect on. There's so much to learn from South Pacific Islanders ......... Thank you again to all at the resort and to Joanne (Goway Travel) who arranged for a beautiful visit

I cannot express sufficiently in words, the true perfection of this place. Every day was a day spent in paradise with absolutely amazing staff, beautiful food and an atmosphere of pure ‘family’ and ‘love’. The attention to detail and the welcome we received throughout our stay made it extremely difficult to leave. Thank you each and every one of you, for making our time together so very special, we’ll definitely be back but with the kids next time .. until then, ‘vinaka vakalevu‘

A beautiful place, really good food. There is no pool and not easy to get into the sea especially at low tide. Other than that it is an excellent place to stay
