Our second visit (Certainly not our last) to this wonderful hotel just confirmed our initial thoughts when we first visited in August this year, Mr Vittorio is a truly amazing host, His Son Francesco and all their staff follow his lead with a genuine warm hospitality not found too often. Nothing is to much trouble, There was somebody at reception ( Francesca, Alexandra, Christian) always available to assist and help with all the enquiries / questions we had during our stay. Hotel is in a very tranquil setting ( a short walk to the village centre) It is very clean in all areas, Rooms are spacious and cleaned daily and well kept. Breakfast is typical continental style, Fresh and with great coffee, Evening menu is changed daily, The food is cooked to order and is Beautifully presented, Wonderful and fresh, Wine choice is amazing, There is a Lovely terrace to the front of the hotel where meals drinks can be taken when weather permits. The swimming pool is a short walk downhill from the hotel with plenty of beds spread around. Savoca itself is a charming hill side village with amazing views over to Mount Etna, The Village was chosen for a few scenes in the original Godfather film, Bar Vitelli and the church of San Nicolo are now tourist hot spots. Dioniso Wine shop/bar is a great spot for a high quality wine stop, With the owner Andrea full of information and guidance on Sicilian wine. There are a few other restaurants, cafes and shops in the village.

From the moment it arrival to our sad departure we had an exceptional experience. The hotel is everything you need - it’s so peaceful, from breakfast to drinks if the terrace at night, it has a slow, intimate calm that is good for the soul! The staff are fabulous and the communication before we arrived, during and even after we left was beyond any experience I’ve had before. The village is perfect and even better once all the tourist buses have gone. The swimming pool is huge and glorious. Sitting on our balcony watching the sun rise, hearing only church bells and bird song will stay with me for the rest of my life. Thank you all for a wonderful stay .

Beautiful hotel. We had a gorgeous triple aspect room. The pool is excellent, be it that sunbed cushions are very scarce and need fixing. The restaurant is atmospheric and the food very good on the whole. The staff however make the place, they are so warm and friendly. It’s a boutique home from home quirky hotel well worth a visit to stay with Vittorio and his family….

Absolutely wonderful resort. I have never experienced hospitality like this in a hotel. You arrive as a guest & leave feeling like a family member. The owner Vittorio is a warm, interesting man. All the staff are so friendly & welcoming. The food is exceptional. The location & views are unsurpassed. An amazing experience.

Complimenti, torneremo.

Something quite special about this haven in the hills above Taormina. Peaceful, spectacular, charming, delightful, restful… I could go on. The staff are so kind, warm, sparkly and engaging. Everything at Borgo San Rocco simply makes you feel happy. We are a family of five with ‘kids’ aged 17, 21 & 24 and they absolutely loved it - won’t stop talking about the experience. FOOD - amazing, so we ended up eating at the hotel restaurant virtually every night. And as for the lady making fresh sandwiches and salads by the pool - delicious!! Thank you Borgo San Rocco, we will be back, for sure!

Following the raving reviews, we had high expectations for our stay. To some extent they were fulfilled. But there is defiantly room for improvement. There are some positives: the view is amazing, the staff is very nice and helpful and the rooms are simple but ok. However on the negative side: the pool area is in a desperate need of some love and attention, it feels like nothing has been done since the 80s. The breakfast is the poorest we’ve seen for a long time - dry bread, almost no vegetables, canned juice. The restaurant on site charges outrageous prices for quite poor food - around 25 euros for started, primero and seconds each. We are much better food in the city for 1/4 of the price. It’s been more than 10 years since we visited a hotel with a normal, free WiFi - here you’re handed 2 gb cards. And the drive to the hotel is absolutely horrible. Extremely narrow road with sharp turns and steep ascents and descents. They should consider offering shuttle service to main square of sevoca. So overall, definently some positives but a lot that is not up to the standard you would expect given the reviews and the prices charged. Would not recommend for a family to stay.

What a find this gorgeous hotel resort high up in Savoca. After a slightly hair raising journey ( very narrow roads, don’t go in a wide car) We arrived at a tranquil haven, nothing was too much trouble all the staff were super friendly and very helpful. Our room was lovely and big with a great terrace overlooking the church. The only downside was the air conditioning wasn’t quite strong enough and turned off when the key card was taken out. We had a fan which helped otherwise we would have been too hot. The pool is beautiful with a bar and small restaurant for a drink or snack. The views are to die for, breakfast is lovely and they have a lovely restaurant for an evening meal which looked very good. We will definitely return here as it is so peaceful and friendly
