Le Bois Gautier

Excellent stay We spent 3 days in the "cowshed" room at Le Bois Gautier. The accommodation was very spacious with a full kitchen and a large bedroom and bathroom upstairs. We received a warm welcome from the new owner Bill who had prepared a log fire for our arrival, this made the accommodation very cosy and was a great touch. Bill had also brought some snacks/breakfast for us. The place was gorgeous, and very quiet, being in the middle of the countryside. It is located about 30 min drive from the scenic town of Fougères, and 10min from St Hilaire du Harcouët with its restaurants, shops and bakeries. "The cowshed" has a step to get into the accommodation and stairs with steps a bit narrower than standard, si out would not be recommended for people with mobility issue. But there are other accommodations in Le Bois Gautier that may be more suitable. We will definitely go back!

We stayed for 4 nights in the workshop Gite. Really comfortable and everything you need seemed to be provided. The welcome food pack was really appreciated after a long journey. Le Bois Gautier is located on the edge of a quite village and although no amenities there a number of nearby supermarkets and St Hilaire has a good choice of shops, bars and restaurants. The host Dom and Jayne put customer service 1st, going out if their way to be helpful. Their attention to detail to make your stay as comfortable as possible is something we have never experienced to such a high standard. His knowledge of the local area and history is really interesting. Would highly recommended and look forward to returning.
