Nice place but not a 5. Room was fine for an old inn. What I expected as I prefer to see the old parts of a city when I’m in a historic spot. A bit musty and if you don’t pick right your room may not have a window as this is an old boarding house. Staff was a 5. Very nice and helpful.

My wife and I went to this restaurant for our Anniversary. All was fine until the food arrived. My shrimp and grits (a favorite I often eat here in the Low Country. It was so peppery I was unable to eat either the grits or the shrimp. My wife ordered the filet. While her filet was warm and not hot, it still tasted good to her. I sent my order back and my wife had eaten her entire dinner before mine came out. I was angry and no longer hungry at that point. We were not offered a dessert, a cocktail, nothing for this experience. I asked to speak to the Mgr. as we left the restaurant. The hostess said yes, escorted me back to the Mgr.'s office. He was on his computer. Did not get up, did not shake my hand, nothing- just said "how can I help you." I explained that I was 63 years old and tonight was the 2nd time I'd EVER returned a meal. He simply said, "well, I'm sorry to hear that". That was it. This restaurant is in a beautiful spot in Savannah, on the Ghost trail so it appears they do not care about basic customer service any longer- another diner will just come along...NEVER will I go or suggest to many Low Country visitors to go there...

Friendly and Convenient We arrived late at night and still received such a nice welcome, and good service. We loved the location being within walking distance of everywhere we wanted to go, and the historic inn was quiet, and clean.

Repeat stay. Always a very nice and pleasant experience.

Pros: location, price, staff, restaurant and bar Cons: the buildings and some furnishings show their age, wifi was very weak in our guest building and there’s no cable tv to catch up on the news. Streaming tv attempts were very inconsistent due to the wifi issue.

The Inn is a great place to visit in Savannah. Close to everything and the food and beverage couldn’t be better. The bar is outstanding with wonderful service and ambience. I highly recommend you stay here for a truly wonderful experience. Barbara and Grumpy treat everyone very well.
