This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I booked a beachfront hotel room and all I got was the view of another cottage in front of me. We had to bring our bags down to the room ourselves and we are close to 60 years old. The person that showed us the room could barely open it because it had a key on A large piece of wood like you would get if you were going to a bathroom at a 7-Eleven back in the 70s. The room is sparse and the bathroom is dated. There is no air conditioning in the bathroom. While I was Calling ******* to rebook sitting at the desk in the room, I was bitten by several ants and found out they were a Calling ******* to rebook sitting at the desk in the room, I was bitten by several ants and found out there were ants all over our room . The food was mediocre and it was so hot in the dining room that I felt nauseated trying to even eat a bowl of soup. The drive to the place is treacherous, and you have to navigate goats, chickens, cats, and people who do not know how to drive. When I was rebooked at another hotel, the owner did not even try and do anything to try and make her stay better. He charged me for $400 for the one night. I stayed because it was too dark to drive on the horrible roads back closer to the airport I would avoid this hotel at all costs .

If you want rest and relaxation, then the modest extra effort to travel to the less developed north of the island is well worth it. There isn’t a lot around Petite Anse other than lush greenery and peace and quiet, but that was what we wanted. The hotel is small and set on a hillside overlooking a cove with a beach that is almost private given the rocks that jut out at either end. The views from the bar/restaurant terrace are spectacular, looking out to Carriacou and Petite Martinique. We alternated between the mostly deserted beach and the small pool by the bar most days. You don’t have to just sit by the pool though, the hotel runs a number of tours (thank you to Leon) including one to the deserted Sandy Island which was super pretty. ( it is worth noting that there was a fair bit of litter there that had built up from previous visitors that somewhat detracted, but when we spoke to Philip the hotel owner about this, he said they would organise a clean up visit) There is also a fun Sunday morning walk that finishes in a local bar and then back to the hotel for a bbq, which was the food highlight of the week. Our beachfront room was called Cocoa and had direct views from our bed to the beach, which was a great way to start the day. We were adopted during our stay by Tommy the hotel cat, and we would gladly have smuggled him back home with us if we could. He benefitted more from the milk that was left daily in our fridge for our tea and coffee than we did. The staff were friendly and keen to help and the atmosphere was super relaxed and personable. It was nice to see lots of locals frequenting the bar and restaurant which made the hotel feel more Grenadian and authentic than other places we stayed. This isn’t an anodyne resort, it has its quirks and issues, but that is part of its charm. For example our shower refused to deliver any hot water during our stay and the food was pretty basic, although i think the main chef was on holiday when we were there. Thankfully it didn’t have evening “entertainment”, if you discount the firefly’s lighting up the trees by the terrace or the frog chorus vying with the sound of the waves rolling up the beach.

After a mixed bag of experiences at the Royalton - and having our holiday extended by the cancellation of our BA flight - we chose to move to the far north of the Island. We picked this hotel at random - we were not dissapointed! In fact the three nights we spent here will remain in our memory a lot longer than the previous seven! The 28 mile journey from St George took every bit of 90 minutes - up and down steep hills and round sharp corners - but scenic nearly all the way. Upon arrival we were made more than welcome, and quickly settled into our rustic room with a fantastic sea view. Whilst the room itself was “basic” all we needed was there (even a kettle and iron). What makes this hotel special is the spectacular location - plus a very, very friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble (including lugging 2x25 kilo suitcases to our room). Food was plentiful and varied. The breakfast was particularly outstanding - probably as good as we have ever had. It was even hot!! There are lots of interesting places to visit nearby, but I would suggest that hiring a car is the best way to get around. Be brave - and give this Hotel a go!

If you want a warm and friendly welcome in a stunning setting then look no further. Petite Anse is a delightfully rustic place where you can truly escape and is ideally placed to explore the north of the island. It is not meant to be 5* luxury but the luxury is the blend of location, tranquility, wholesome local food and lovely staff. Easy to book a car from here or to book taxis to get you to local beaches, turtle tour etc. Local walks. So many authentic places. The food is good and the all day menu also means you can be as flexible as you want. The beach is easily accessible but not suitable for swimming. There is a pool. We stayed for 5 nights this visit which was good.

Such a lovely, serene, and special place - a true slice of island magic! If you are on the fence as to whether you should visit this part of the island or this hotel, stop wavering and book a room! The cottages, while not luxurious, are comfortable and well appointed, each with its own stunning view of the resort's beach, which, while not technically private(by law, all beaches in Grenada are public), you will have virtually all to yourself. I cannot think of a more relaxing place to be than on the hammock on the front porch of the cottage, leisurely reading while taking in the view and the sounds of the crashing waves below. The pool is also lovely, as is the bar and dining area, with expansive views of Cariccou, St Vincent & the Grenadines, and on a clear day, as far as St Lucia.

The location is very quiet and peaceful. Definitely a place to stay if you want to relax. The dining room and bar had good prices and the service was excellent. Within walking distance to Sauteurs. Plenty of other good hikes in the area. We participated in the Sunday morning walk sponsored by the hotel and also enjoyed the Sunday barbecue. We booked the Sandy Island trip and that was enjoyable. A huge thank you to Dona for taking care of scheduling and making our reservations. The 4 stop tour led by our driver, Leon was great. We will definitely stay again.

We spent a lovely 4 nights at Petite Anse to experience this side of the island on our first trip to Grenada. Rooms all had a gorgeous, peaceful view and while rustic (especially the bathroom), were clean and well maintained. The AC worked well (and you could still hear the lovely waves to lull yourself to sleep using it!) but the beds were a bit hard and not the nicest linens. Some things to keep in mind: • It is absolutely worth spending a few nights here to explore this side of the island. It is a 2+ hour ride from the airport and St. Georges area on very dark, very windy roads so definitely not suitable for a day trip! We rented a car (def recommend!) and thank goodness the hotel has signs to help you make your way there! • The food was wonderful with much of it grown on their property. The menu changed nightly. Other than one nearby restaurant, there really aren’t any other food options that we felt comfortable eating at (or were open). The complimentary breakfast was delicious and had a lot of options. • Melvin, the bartender and all of the servers at the restaurant were kind, helpful and a joy to enjoy our meals with! • This is a very quiet place to relax. The guests sometimes gathered in one of the communal areas in the evening but we were in bed nightly by 9pm-ish. • The weather was tough when we were there so the water was too rough to go in to try the beach. The pool is right off the restaurant so you need to be comfortable with people dining right there when you’re swimming! • There are some cats that have made themselves at home here. If you are a cat fan you will be in heaven. If you are allergic, you will not be. “Tommy” woke us up at 6am outside our door with his paws up trying to let himself in and is very aggressive when you’re outside trying to enjoy your front deck. • There are not fancy toiletries in the bathroom so make sure you bring everything from home. Also, don’t forget the bug spray and itch stick for bites! Overall, we would definitely recommend a stay here for a few nights while visiting Grenada to explore this very different side of the island!

I am really glad that I chose Petite Anse as my home away from home during the holiday season and for my first time on the island of Grenada. Prior to making the trip, I emailed with a million and one inquiries. Philip was very patient with me and thorough in his response and follow up. I traveled solo and felt very, very safe my entire time there. I stayed in Clove cottage, which had an amazing view of the water and the waves were my soundtrack for the night. The space was really conducive to what I wanted to do during my stay which was rest, write, reflect and practice yoga. They have yoga mats that you can borrow. Receptionist and staff were super sweet and Melvin at the bar made GREAT drinks. The breakfast was great, as it was not a typical buffet, but made to order. Loved it here and will definitely be back! Thinking about planning a retreat here. :)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Petite Anse. The setting was exactly what we were looking for, quiet and out of the tourist areas. Philip, Donna, and all of the staff were super friendly and always helpful. Melvin gets a special shout out as our favorite bartender who now knows all about Harry Belefonte :-). We stayed in the Cocoa cabin, no complaints other than it is the closest to the restaurant so it can get loud at night. Most of the time, the wind and waves cover up the noise. The sand fleas are pretty voracious if the wind isn't blowing, so bring long pants for hikes and trips in town. We walked all over and felt safe the whole time - well, except for one run-in with 2 Dobermans....most of the stray dogs won't bother you. Highly recommended!
