3-Star Hotels in Saumur

Very disappointed with the room. The washed floor was still wet because the planks were lifting and water was trapped underneath and it never dried out overnight. So the room smelt musky and I had to use lots of lavender room spray. There was no cover on the extraction fan in the bathroom and the water was leaking into the cistern and made the electric pump empty the system spasmodically throughout the night. The bathroom wall tiles were old and stained and the paint on the wall was peeling and the plaster was coming off next to the bath. It was a ground floor room with only one door coming off the car park- noisy cars coming and going. Most of the hotels have a small entrance- porch on the room- two doors. I actually stayed in this hotel last year in a different block in an upstairs room and that was fine. I should have booked it with *********** as they would have charged me only £65. Since I am a member and was going to save 10% I booked directly online. 91€ was an extortionate price to pay for such poor quality accommodation. I made a complaint to Campanile and they said they were sorry and hoped we would stay with them again. How can you tell if your room is going to be fine -like it has on every other occasion during the last 30+ years? I won’t be booking with them again.

An average hotel with not much services.

As a group of three we were touring Belgium/France on our motorcycles. After a 12 hour, gruelling day on the motorcycles we arrived at this Hotel a little later than planned; 9.00pm rather than the 7:30pm.After getting access to our rooms we went straight to the Hotel restaurant for our dinner. At 9:10 pm were were curtly told by the restaurant manager that dinner service ended at 9:00pm and flatly refused to serve us. After some negotiations we were allowed to order our dinner. There was no need to be so unpleasant. We had booked a twin bedded room and a single. The twin bedded room was very small for two people compared to the huge room occupied by one person. Very strange! The buffet breakfast was comprehensive and there was something for everyone. As it was only a stay for a single night we did not make a fuss to the management but compared to some of the other Hotels we had used in France this place was pretty mediocre and very unfriendly.

We arrived at midday here and the check in time is from 14:00 however was going to just ask if we could put our car in the car park but the friendly receptionist checked us in early so bonus and very good of them. Seen a review about the car park being tight and although our car would be classed as a Chelsea tractor had no problem manoeuvring it in. We booked the double suit that overlooks the Loire. Fantastic view, room was a bit dated but the bathroom was modern so no real complaints. The kettle lead had been wired down the back of a cupboard but didn’t reach the socket but a quick trip to reception and we were provided with a new kettle so good service on their behalf. Breakfast was good and plentiful. The hotel is ideally situated and decent value. Would certainly return. Thanks for a great 3 day stay

Résidence piétonne au calme avec ses avantages : - les enfants peuvent librement circuler en vélo car pas de voitures ( parking à l'entrée et personne ne rentre sauf PMR) - pas de bruit mais des inconvénients : - voiture indispensable car loin de tous ( rien ne peut se faire à pied) - si votre logement est au bout de la résidence , il faudra marcher 5 minutes pour aller au parking ( pas facile pour charger et décharger les bagages surtout avec des enfants) Nous avons bien aimé : - la piscine couverte chauffée et plutôt profonde ( top ! ) - la petite aire de jeu pour enfants qui peut rendre service - la vente de bouteilles et de carte postale à l'accueil En terme de points positifs , les caves principales de Saumur sont immédiatement accessibles en voiture. Ca reste une résidence de tourisme : il faut faire le ménage avant de partir , il faut faire les lits en arrivant , et même selon la formule les louer ! Pour notre séjour , la literie n'était pas géniale : 2 lits simples côte à côte Bref , on sait que cette résidence existe , on y reviendra si besoin est mais ce ne sera pas notre choix numéro 1

The hotel is just opposite the train station, which is very convenient for people who come to me and carry a big bag very late. The room is small and it is a bed, even the table is active. Same, no slippers, no toothbrushes. But the room was clean and there were not many breakfasts, but it was okay. Saumur estimates that no one has a special trip like me, if I really have a train like this. Can be considered, because it is just opposite the station, it is too convenient. Play back and take a bag and set off for the next stop!

First of all I want to say what a super location for the centre this hotel is. The staff were really friendly, as we had not booked the under carpark it was full but the carforre opposite has a carpark . Positives , bed comfortable and air con very good in room. Be aware it is a 3 star and the rooms are very small, think it’s smallest room we’ve ever stayed in but as a 1 night Stopover is fine . The hotel does have a pool and spa area- be aware this is not complimentary but €20 per person . No idea what it’s like as we didn’t use. We enjoyed the breakfast , decent continental which I think was €13 each. If you want a comfortable well located short stay budget hotel, this is a good choice.
