Property Description
Treetops is Saugatuck’s only rental featuring three neighboring vintage cottages—perfect for multi-family getaways. Nestled around a shared firepit and professionally maintained hot tub, each cottage offers screened porches, harbor or dune views, and generous outdoor space for grilling and gathering. Cottages may be reserved individually or together, depending on availability. This listing is for Big Red, the largest of the three. Big Red features two levels of living space, ideal for a primary family or group lead. The upper level includes an open-concept layout with vintage finishes, a soaring ceiling, two bedrooms, a full kitchen, and a spacious wraparound screened porch perched on the dune bluff with sweeping harbor views. The lower level, accessible by a separate entrance, includes an additional living area and private bath—perfect for added privacy. Washer/dryer included. Set atop a 50-foot dune directly across the harbor from downtown Saugatuck, Treetops offers front-row views of the bustling waterfront. Oval Beach, one of the world’s most celebrated shorelines, is just a 15-minute dune walk or a 2-minute drive away. Our stay was great! The location is wonderful. Just a few minutes drive and you're at Oval Beach. The cabin itself is charming. The screened in porch was our favorite hangout spot for morning coffee and afternoon card games. The perfect place to spend our end of summer vacation!

Cozy anniversary getaway This was a wonderful, cozy, and quiet stay. We were impressed with the property and the amenities. If we had one suggestion for the future, it would probably be adding blinds or curtains as the cottage is fairly wide open and leaves guests feeling slightly exposed. That being said, you are so comfortable that you hardly notice. We will definitely consider staying again.

Cute Treehouse The property is very cute. There are two bedrooms on the main floor and one with a separate entrance. The location worked great for our purposes.

The perfect getaway! Very nicely appointed lake house. Beds were cozy. Within walking distance to the chain ferry to get to downtown Saugatuck. Toilet on the top floor is not fully enclosed for privacy and bedroom windows don’t have privacy shades for changing clothes, etc. Other than that, would definitely return!

Saugatuck stay Overall, it was a cozy place to stay. Due to road closure and the ferry not running, it was a 15 minute drive to downtown Saugatuck. I feel it was a bit overpriced for that area and the amenities where we could have stayed in Douglas and been closer and less expensive. When the ferry runs during the summer, would be very convenient. I didn’t like that we didn’t have control of the thermostat in the house as it was a bit cold and had to message the owner to change it. My kids didn’t want to sleep in the downstairs area that had a separate entrance as they didn’t want to be alone and bed too small for adults. The hot tub was great for relaxation but know that it is shared with 2 other houses. Very clean and owner was quick to respond and helpful.

Red cabin - rustic feel in a neighborhood We thoroughly enjoyed the fire pit, hot tub, and front porch. The decor was charming and everything workied well. We did not know that 1 of the 3 bedrooms was an isolated apartment, or that the stairs to access the property would be so numerous. Folks with physical limitations should know that they will have to climb many stairs to access the main dwelling. Also, numerous members of the family fell at various times during our stay due to their being changes in floor levels throughout the main house. Stairs were also a factor in moving around the property graounds. There was very little sound isolation throughout, making it difficult to sleep with a baby; you could hear everything from the main room in the bedrooms. The couch was not a pull out, so that was limiting. Even though we could see and hear Saugatuck clearly, we had to take a circuitous, narrow path for 15 minutes to actually get there.
