Breakfast is not as you may expect, old facilities. No iron in some rooms!

Old style hotel. Some of the furniture needs to be renovated, the armchairs were dirty and broken, night lamp was also broken. Weird smell in the corridor. I have to say the bed was very comfy and bed linen was clean. Breakfast was poor, just coffee and muffins.

We stayed at the Senator on a whim, we were going to a concert a few blocks away! WOW what a great old place! So historic! Great location right down Saskatoon. The rooms were clean and comfy. Parking is “different”, breakfast is very continental but ok. Winston’s pub is very cool and there is a high end Steakhouse,Flanagans.$$$ Overall would def stay there again!! Check it out.

I stayed in this hotel fifty years ago when I first came to Saskatoon so this was a trip full of nostalgia and it didn't disappoint. Staff were very helpful and polite. Winstons served good food and drink. The discounts were very much appriciated.

I stayed here for two nights because I wanted to stay in a place downtown that wasn't a chain. Some positives were... 1. Very nice lobby, you can literally feel the history in the air. The hallways are extremely wide for a hotel and have old couches and chairs. It kind of takes you back in time. 2. Walking distance of practically everything. We rented a car and we didn't even use it. We also walked to the Ukrainian Museum of Canada, the Prairie Lily, as well as walked through a lot of Saskatoon's riverfront parks. 3. Winston's Pub, that connects to the hotel, has 76 beers on tap. I went there every night and it was awesome. It's also historic-looking in it's own right and really made staying here fun. 4. I never used it, but there was this awesome patio on the second floor that gave you a nice view of the city. Then some negatives... 1. You can't get around it -- Saskatoon does have a homeless problem. But so do most North American cities and the homeless in Saskatoon never bothered me. That being said all the doors are locked at all times and when you first get there you have to ring the bell to let you in. I admit, this was a little intimidating but once I got my key card I could just use it whenever I went through the door and it was no longer a problem. 2. The hotel could use some updating. The lighting wasn't the best in the bathroom and there weren't a lot of places to hang towels and whatnot. Then some neutrals... 1. Parking is quite limited, but they do warn you on the website. I was able to park there fine and nobody bothered my car (unlike what I saw in other reviews). Just don't leave anything in your car that's worth taking and you should be fine. 2. The breakfast is nearly non-existent. That being said, I didn't recall the website telling me there was a breakfast so it wasn't a big deal. Additionally, I didn't decide to stay downtown just to eat a generic hotel breakfast. There are plenty of breakfast spots around (if during the week) and I found this bakery that had a really good breakfast. Overall, I gave them 4/5 mainly because of the 2 issues I mentioned above. Don't let other reviews dissuade you, I really enjoyed my stay here and would stay here again if I was in Saskatoon.

Nice old hotel. Loads of character. Beautiful old building with a great pub. We aren’t sure our bedsheets were cleaned when we arrived. Unfortunately the homeless people are all around. We were warned not to leave valuables in our car. The free breakfast was terrible. We won’t stay here again.

The hotel is downtown. Environment is exactly the same as all downtown areas anywhere. This hotel was safe and secure. Beautiful old decor, clean, awesome beds and pillows, good size room, everything worked and was very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant and pub were so beautiful and the food and drink was excellent. Stayed with my 24 year old daughter and we enjoyed our time. We couldn't hear anyone in the other rooms at all and it was very peacful. The parking is limited and in a back alley. There is a wonderful Cafe called Living Sky Cafe next to the hotel that has the best breakfast. There is a large unhomed population around the area. This did not bother us but may bother some.

Beautiful old hotel surrounded by dirty down town adventure. Knowing the state of the down town I booked the hotel anyways. I figured I’d put up with some things to experience the history of the hotel. Yes the bed was comfortable and the linen soft and clean. The parking was to be park two cars deep behind the building and leave nothing in the car. If you park behind another car, leave your keys so the door man can move your car. We checked that out and there was homeless people out there in the afternoon; we parked on the street for the night. Everything was fine. There is beautiful pub, much quieter in the basement. The lamps didn’t work, well flickered when we moved the bed because the entire electric plug. The TV didn’t work and the lady at the desk couldn’t do anything with that. It also had a toilet that flushed by itself every hour. Flapper wouldn’t seal then it would trickle down until empty then flush. Sooo I booked and pre paid on ******* which thereby left me vulnerable to no compensation. Trying to be a savvy traveller and help others. All this place needs is a body chalk outline.

What a wonderful hidden treasure in downtown Saskatoon. Original woodwork, brass and marble takes you back in time 115 years. Friendly staff are happy to show off the majestic meeting and dining areas and very knowledgeable on this majestic hotel's history. Spacious rooms with high ceilings haven't been updated for a while but that's part of the charm of this century old gem. Winston Pub a fun spot for live music and good food. We'll be back!
