Golden Host Resort Sarasota

The property is a run down hotel. The room was filthy with mold, and definitely not up to code. We complained about the woman smoking right outside our door, and it wasn't addressed until after we checked out(manager covering her ass). Asked for a refund through ******* and the hotel stated they addressed our concerns, which the pictures I provided prove otherwise. DO NOT STAY HERE. YOU HAVE BEEN

Arrived and had a very efficient check-in. We then attended the weekly ‘Drag Bingo’ with a crowd in the tiki hut. The crowd was very engaged, the host very entertaining, but definitely an activity for an adults. The Brian’s behind the bar were also great. Cheers!

Perhaps we had the worst room in the resort (#204) but based upon our experience we don’t see how this is no. 7 of 57 hotels. As soon as we checked in the wife went to use the bathroom. The barn style door was off the track and could not be closed. I could not lift it onto the track, I went to the office and the young lady who had checked us in said she would send maintenace. I wanted to ensure I would not be charged for the door from the $100 Security Deposit I had to pay. An hour later I returned to the office to find a new rep who said maintenance had gone home but she would find someone. No one showed up and so much for the showers we wanted before dinner and the concert we had tickets for (the whole purpose of our trip). In addition, room 204 has no closet, no rod, no clothing hooks to hang up the dress and clothes we had brought for the concert. There are also no Handicapped Parking Spaces even though there are Handicapped Accesible Rooms including 204. Location was ideal for an event at The Van Wezel but the room did not live up to expectations and other Trip Advisor reviews. We won’t return. I left a tip for the maid but she should have noted the broken door. A rod could easily be installed in the cubby behind the shower that just has a photo hanging in it.

Check in woman-excellent. Room 111 NON-REFUNDABLE BOOKING Lack of towels, musty smell,bath floor-water (from toilet?) under it. POWER shut off @ 11pm-2am w/ NO WARNING! Mgr lied about situation and uncaring.
