A change from our chosen itinerary so started off feeling Negative. On reflection this is a self contained small resort with good trails leading into the jungle (beware of snakes, signs everywhere). You can spot so many birds during the day and frogs at night. Smaĺl but clean swimming pool for the more humid hot times. Main restaurant cafeteria style with buffet food but there is also a pizzeria and bar on site. The downside is that it is close to a major highway and fraffic can be heard day and night. Try to get a room close to the river!

This property is amazing. The staff is so helpful. We were in one of the bungalows the first night. Wasn’t bad but not for us. Too far from the amenities. We were able to move the second night near the river. The room is great. Breakfast was included and has everything you could want. Eat in their restaurant. It’s well priced the food is amazing and again the staff is top notch.

Wonderful location ! Our room was large, comfortable and faced the river . The staff all had a smile for us and worked so hard to keep the walkways clear ,the grounds inviting , the rooms immaculate and the food tasty! The bird life at Selva Verde - wow. We experienced a Bird tour and Nature tour with Carlos who was extremely knowledgeable ,friendly and so helpful. By placing my phone on his telescope he videotaped two Great green Macaws preening each other for me. I am so grateful . He was one of many guides we had that made our trip to Costa Rica an exceptional experience . We also saw a number of different frogs. A Boa Constrictor. River otter. Kinkajou. Four eyed Opossum and more !Fantastic

Zeer mooi ingerichte lodges gelegen in het regenwoud. Veel dieren te spotten. Wandeling met gids in het woud is een echte aanrader! Rafting op de Sarapiqui is voor durvers! Lekker ontbijt en heerlijk Italiaans restaurant. Ecologisch beheer staat voorop!

Beautiful eco resort by the river. We went to sleep listening to the river and saw a great many bird watchers and photographers on the site. Two very different restaurants and a nice pool. The howler monkeys put on a great show by the pool.

Large property - suffered from recent flooding when I was there. Saw a lot of interesting birds and other wild life on the property. The rooms were large - but the space was not well utilized. I had the impression that there was a lot of deferred maintenance that was overdue. Nonetheless, it was comfortable. The food was OK.

The lodge is a wonderful location with amazing bird viewing opportunities! We saw toucans, honeycreepers, and chacalacas from the deck outside the restaurant. There are short hikes you can take yourself to learn about the rainforest as well as a guided hike. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The food was good and I especially like the rice and palm casserole as I had never had that combination before this trip. Nearby activities include a river boat trip and a pineapple farm.

Amazing place to stay for seeing birds and wildlife. I’d highly recommend the guided nature walk or guided bird watching. The rooms and grounds are beautifully kept, as well.
