Hotel Royal Saranda

I can’t believe I paid actual money to stay at this dump. The lobby looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since the '90s, and the receptionist? Completely uninterested. She was too busy texting to even acknowledge me for the first five minutes. The room? Oh, where do I even begin? It was a nightmare. Stains on the sheets that I don’t even want to think about, curtains hanging half off the rod, and I’m pretty sure the "king-size bed" was just two twins shoved together. Also, the bathroom had a lovely touch: a broken toilet seat and no hot water. I ended up showering in ice-cold water while trying to avoid stepping on the mold that decorated the tiles. As for the so-called "continental breakfast," I wouldn’t feed that to my worst enemy. Stale pastries and a coffee machine that must have been possessed by a demon because it spat out some sludge that resembled motor oil. Oh, and don’t even get me started on the noise. I didn’t sleep a wink because the walls are paper-thin. I could hear every single word from the arguing couple next door, followed by their *other* activities that I absolutely didn’t need to hear. Do yourself a favor and sleep in your car instead. You’ll thank me.

Lovely little boutique hotel, just five minutes walk from the port. We stayed for three nights after catching the ferry from Corfu. Nice room overlooking the esplanade and we had a cute little balcony to watch the lively scenes below. It's a family hotel and they couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. Breakfast is on the roof. Delicious buffet every morning plus freshly made omelettes. Can be noisy at night as it is next to a bar, but good fun if you want to sit on your balcony and listen to the live music in private.

This hotel is in a great location, on a few mins walk from the ferry terminal, bus stops, on the main promenade. Breakfast is on a roof top terrace with beautiful views over Sarande, the Hotel was clean & comfortable and the staff were super friendly & helpful.
