The room is safe enough and clean. It has electricity, AC, running water, wifi and a mini-fridge. The location is central which is practical as it is walking distance to most sights and venues in central Sao Tome. For breakfast, there are some fresh fruits (papaya, banana, mango), fresh made fruit juice, some bread, scrambled eggs and ham/cheese. IYou can also buy additional items in the hotel café next door. I was happy with it but somewhat on the smaller side and did not find it as good as described in some of the past reviews and guidebooks. In general, I got the impression that the hotel is running more on routine nowadays than in the past and while a good and safe option, it appears to have deteriorated somewhat not living fully up to its past very good reputation. The reception is irregularly staffed and generally left to the Portuguese speaking café/cleaning staff who don't have that as their main task. They had a nice English speaking person who helped me upon check-in in the early evening so in practice, everything could be sorted with him upon arrival. In all, it was a reasonable mid-range option to stay at in conjunction with my transfers to/from the island.
