A very special place
This is a very special place.
A quiet and idyllic vineyard with just a few respectfully restored rooms forms an authentic getaway from everyday hustle and bustle.
Very dedicated owner and staff makes you feel welcome and allows you to relax. There isn’t much to do here other than enjoy the scenery, the quietness, a swim or a walk between the vines.

We spent two nights at this delightful hotel and winery and wished we could have stayed longer. Maria and Jose Manuel are wonderful hosts and their hotel is a beautifully restored building with a lot of history.We ordered dinner for one night and Marie prepared a fantastic dish, probably one of our best meals while in Portugal. The winery tour and tasting that Jose Manuel gave was a nice treat and we took wine with us when we left. The rooms were very comfortable and clean, the surrounding vineyards were beautiful and our hosts were so welcoming. We would recommend Casa Grande do Seixo to anyone who travels to this area of Portugal!

We had a wonderful three days at Casa Grande Do Seixo. It’s a special place. We are golfers and had booked to play the course at Vidago Palace on two of our three days. The course is a 20 min drive away - so CG is the perfect spot for a base. It is set in it’s own vineyards - and the owners - Mr Manuel and Maria were really excellent hosts. From booking restaurants for us to recommending places to visit to looking after me when I was unwell, Mr Manuel and Maria were the perfect hosts. There is something very special about Mr Manuel talking you through the wines he has produced- and then drinking them with the food cooked by Maria at dinner. Both the wines and the food were really good. And of course - a special mention for the homemade grappa too. Mr Manuel will also walk you round the wine production facilities and explain the process that leads to his excellent wines. The rooms are large and sparkling clean. Ours was on the second floor looking out over the vineyards. Early May was too cold for the pool - but it is beautifully situated on the edge of the vineyards with lovely views. Thanks again for a special stay.

We want to thank Maria and Manuel for your warm hospitality. We experienced a wonderful, relaxing day at their home. They showed us around the property and informed us on the vineyard and the village. We recommend this place to anyone who wants to go visit the real Portugal (and to who wants to drink a few glasses of a good wine on a beautiful site.
