Just off President Kennedy Avenue, our hotel is less than four km. from Costanera Center and Bicentennial Park. We are surrounded by several restaurants, shops, and businesses. The Santiago city center and Arturo Merino Benitez Airport are about 20 minutes away. Our 17th floor restaurant features panoramic views of the city and mountains.

We spent 2 nights/3 days here before boarding our Viking cruise. Highly recommend! Val at the front desk managed to get us us an early check in, which was much appreciated after we flew overnight from the US. Room was modern and comfortable with a GREAT view. We were surprised and thankful there was a USB and a 110v plug as we brought the wrong converter … would have been a real problem if we couldn’t charge our devices! The restaurant on the 17th floor was excellent, both for the food, the service and the wonderful view of Santiago’s financial district and surrounding parks. We ate breakfast there each morning and had drinks on the shaded patio before dinner each night. Ask for the hard copy menu in English if your Spanish is as rusty as mine. If you want to keep up your exercise, you can use the hotel gym OR the long, wide path that goes through the city that is right outside the hotel front door. Not sure how long it is (just did 3 miles) but bring your sunscreen as it is not shaded. Just across the street from the hotel is a building called CV Galeria. It has about 8-9 restaurants / bars across three levels, all with outdoor seating. Great options for dinner after a busy day touring Santiago with no Uber ride required! One tip: contact the hotel ahead of time to arrange a pickup at the airport. It will save you time and angst trying to navigate the airport and choose unknown transport… great to have a guy from the hotel holding up a sign with your name! In summary: great centrally located hotel in a safe area.

This was a superior experience and one that reminds me of a time when hotel management was something hotels took pride in. From the very first moment, this was a stay of pure comfort. - Check in and out was quick and informative - The rooms were of a very high standard, clean and with superior comfort. There was a huge comfortable bed as well as a lounger and space for an office desk with chair. The desk had multi-jurisdictional plugs which is such a great offering for guests. I do not understand why all hotels do not offer this. There were four complimentary bottles which were always replaced. The lighting was just right. - Bathroom was luxurious with separate shower and bathtub, with the toilet in a separate space. Shower gels and shampoos provided along with lotion. And many towels of high quality. - Breakfast was excellent with a selection of everything anyone would require included fruit, breads, meats, live egg station and more. - Staff: The staff from the breakfast area to the concierge and reception were all excellent. They were helpful and always smiling. Special appreciation to the waiters in the breakfast area who were very helpful and engaged in conversation in English - which was great for me. They would constantly check to see if I was okay. I was very impressed with my stay and will definitely stay here again. Well done to the hotel management team and staff. Spectacular!

We spent five days with our family at this hotel – we had an excellent experience. We had access to the executive lounge where we were well taken care of by Marciela and Daniel. They put out a beautiful spread of local treats for both breakfast and evening snacks. Daniel was always good about explaining what was in the various hors d’oeuvres. One of us had a birthday, and Marcella made “Happy Birthday” dessert tray for us. Our room was kept immaculate. Fernando came by with chocolates every evening and a bright smile on his face. Sebastian, the general manager, arranged a private car to take us skiing. He was involved in making sure our trip was outstanding. Overall, a great experience. We will be staying at this hotel when we come back to Santiago.

To say this is an excellent hotel with a great location, service, facilities, and comfort really sums it up, but let me share just a little story. When my wife and I arrived at the airport and took what we thought was a legitimate taxi, we came to find out that it was actually a pirate with a black and yellow car exactly like the ”official taxi”. When we discovered our credit card had been compromised, the staff (front desk staff were the best I have ever dealt with, and I travel a lot) had their security chief go over security camera footage to observe our transaction in front of the hotel in an attempt to further identify the pirate by reading the license plate number. Too make a long story short, with their help our credit card problem was resolved, and we were ”off the hook”. That alone should do it, but the hotel was clean, the rooms were very comfortable, and the breakfast area was as good as I have ever seen (and it was included). Again, I cannot recommend this hotel enough...if you go to Santiago, wish to stay in the heart of the city close to the metro, and want to deal with people who really care about you and go above and beyond excellent service, STAY IN THIS HOTEL! You will have no regrets.

Many Chinese people choose to live here, the location is convenient, the price is not expensive, the room is clean and tidy, the facilities are old, the power port design is not reasonable, either behind the table or behind the cabinet. Also parking is expensive.

The hotel is clean and located in the heart of Santiago. The staff are amazing. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. There are bus and train stops within a couple of blocks of the hotel. Water, beer, wine and snacks are conveniently available for purchase in the lobby any time of the day or night. The hotel is still ramping up its operations to become more “full service” so some services, such as an in-house laundry service, are not yet available. The pool/bar area is beautiful and makes for a great place to hang out. Compared to a four star hotel in Chicago, some may find the interior a bit lacking, but my family and I really liked it.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights while visiting Santiago de Chile, and my experience was pretty good. Check-in process was smooth with no complaints other than the lack of staff to escort the luggage. We got a room in the middle of the building and the room was spacious and comfortable with working heater plus air conditioner for warning up from the chilly Santiago weather. Unfortunately we were unable to enjoy the breakfast due to the constraints of our tour but overall we had a very nice stay and would recommend this to anyone who's looking for a good accomodation in the centre of Santiago.

I like this hotel very much. It is located next to the Presidential Palace and the Plaza de Armas in the center of the city. The price is not expensive and it is convenient for travel. The room was clean, but the water pressure in the bathroom was insufficient.
The service is very good. The restaurant downstairs is delicious, but the breakfast has few varieties and is not as good as other hotels.

This is when you wished you would have spent the time to do a little more homework than TA reviews… Pros: responsive and pleasant customer service, tasty lunch in the restaurant (the chicken stew, black bean stew and ceviche were delicious). Also, The sauna was very warm and cold water was provided when I rented the sauna for $10. The room was large and nice. Opportunities…the worst- at 2:30am, the lighting above our bed turned on and it could not be shut off. It took maintenance 15 minutes to determine how to shut down the whole system until the morning. It was especially painful later to have the hotel charge us $2 for a cup of coffee in the room, for the nicest room in the hotel when we were inconvenienced in the middle of the night. ??? The gym had a lot of useful equipment but it is no spa or gym really. It’s a small room with rusty weights. The team was very friendly but the gym is unacceptable for a hotel deemed 5 star????!!!! Massages were done by nice people and they were value priced for sure, but it was more like a body rub on a hard table with a rough towel to cover you. And finally, not the hotels fault assuredly, but if you are looking for a charming area to stay and visit in Santiago, to walk to cafes or shops, this is not it.

GGuest UserThis hotel stay was arranged by Silversea following a cruise from Guayaquil to Valparaiso, with return flights from Santiago. Our room was comfortable; food, wines and service in the restaurant were generally excellent. We had a late-evening flight out of Santiago, so the hotel folks graciously let us stay in our room until 3:00 p.m. If back in Santiago, we'll definitely consider staying here again.
On the last night of our holiday, 300924, my travel companion and I both had our backpacks stolen from the hotels Reception area of the Almasur Hotel, Santiago, Chile. The Hotel did have Security staff onsite, but there was no security manning the front door. When I made a formal complaint, the General Mgr of the hotel needed to check the CCTV footage for any theft. He seemed very put out by the fact that he had to do the checks of the CCTV footage. He did locate someone suspicious in the Hotel Reception area, who we suspect was the thief of our backpacks. I did see the footage but the footage wasn’t shared with me. My issues for complaint are: There was no security staff on the front door – people not staying at the hotel were free to come and go without checks; The General Manager, who was in the building and at the front desk when we were standing there, made no effort to approach us and / or apologise for any inconvenience caused by the theft; To date we have received nothing from the hotel acknowledging the theft, even though I reported it to the front desk within 30 minutes of it happening. Another interesting fact is that one of our tour companions had something removed from her room in the same hotel – this was an item she had purchased to take home to Australia. The item was clearly packaged in the room to show it was not rubbish / refuse however the hotel claimed it was taken and disposed of as rubbish. The item had to be repurchased. Beautiful hotel and location, but something needs to be done about security in the hotels Reception area.
GGuest UserI loved this hotel! The staff was really wonderful and accommodating. Juan was at the front desk each morning with a greeting of ”Good Morning Madame.” Nicolas was very helpful in arranging my stay prior to the visit, which was helpful. Every staff member was really friendly and accommodating. They served a small breakfast buffet in the main level each morning, even cooked eggs to order if you'd like. I went to this country traveling as a solo female. This was a nice location because it's walking distance to several restaurants and a lovely park. I felt completely safe in the area. My favorite was the Peruvian restaurant! I had this amazing seabass dish with scallops and calamari with a sauce on top. This was all on a bed of risotto. Chilian wine...fantastic! I wasn't familiar with this region's wine and was surprised at how good it was. My meal, paired with a lovely Chilian Sauvignon Blanc Reserve was so delicious that I went back and had the same thing the next night.
There is also a hill about a mile away that has the Christ statue, that is very walkable. There is a Japanese Garden on the hill. If you can't walk there, there is a funicular and the Uber car service worked just as it does in the US. One tip, if you're from the US or North, the maps will be backwards on Google. Just google directions to get them in the direction you're going. I got lost the first day until I did my Google search on how to fix.
The only problem I had was the language. Very few people speak English. I even went to a restaurant, fine dining at a park, quite lovely, but nobody spoke English and the menu was only in Spanish. To make matters worse, my phone died! Be prepared with how to use Google Translate, that will help, but if your phone dies, you're dead in the water. I found it very hard to communicate with people, which would not have been as bad had I not been traveling alone. I found it to be very isolating. I even took a tour with an English-speaking guide. I thought great, now I can chat with people, but NO! It was a guide who spoke Spanish, then translated to Portuguese, then English. I was the only English-speaking person on the bus. The museums, a few are only available in Spanish so no point going to those if you don't speak Spanish.
Other than the language barrier, I had a lovely time. My highlight was my hotel and the staff!
GGuest UserThis hotel lives up to its 5 star rating. I got walked up to my room and introduced to the layout and the staff had great knowledge of English. Beds were comfortable and room in good working order. There is a mall across the street which was convenient for taking care of some quick shopping trips. The hotel is in the De Hesa district of Santiago which is pretty, and also safe, though it is about 45-60min from the city center on public transit.
Had a lovely stay, friendly helpful staff and clean, modern, spacious rooms with stylish decor. Nice breakfast and reasonable price. Great location close to central Santiago, Santa Ana and Cumming subway stations and many restaurants. Would recommend to anyone.
GGuest UserThis is based on two stays / two rooms a week apart. This hotel is substantially better than the one at the airport. Bed was comfortable and a/c is strong. Wifi good throughout the hotel. Water pressure excellent, although the water smells so chlorinated as to be pool water. The room was clean, but they need to change their mopping chemicals. There is a slippery residue throughout the room which is really noticeable if your feet are wet. Breakfast was a travesty. Buffet with no alternative. Scrambled eggs, toast, very few pastries, fruit, and cereal. That’s it. Coffee machine wasn’t working (gasp). It was free, though, maybe. The staff wasn’t actually sure. Transfer from the airport is on request and free. Send flight details ahead of time and your driver will arrange pickup via WhatsApp. Transfer back is only on the hour, but you can pay $20 for your own five minute taxi if you want. Reception staff speaks English. But no one else did (including restaurant / bar staff). The hotel doesn’t accept any cash payments. The price is reasonable and offsets the above problems. I would stay here again for a layover. The hotel is not suitable for a city visit.
AAAYAThe best choice with perfect services. RQ Santa Magdalena Hotel was new and very comfortable hotel with so nice interior and exterior. It's so best location near of Mall Costanera Center and CBD. Very beautiful views. Also the hotel rooms with the kitchen, Including all kitchen equipments and accessories. Hotel's front desk was very kindly and warmly. My flight was in the morning early after my staying at the hotel. Front desk (Her name was Catalina) delivered my breakfast to my room previous day. Also she gave me very nice room with excellent views. The window was looking to the Sky Costanera Center, I'm so thankful for the hotel's front desk Catalina and her colleague who was a guy. I want to say them thank you so much again. See you soon in beautiful Santiago de Chile again 🇨🇱💕👍👍
GGuest UserThere was a disjoint between the restaurant and hotel. System needs improvement. No wardrobe in room surprised me. Good beds. Room in average condition. It took 25 minutes to check out (no waiting that’s simply the time it took for what should have been a simple admin procedure). People are very nice they just need improved operating processes.
ZZHENTAOThe environment is beautiful, the location is good, there is a large supermarket next to it, the rooms are comfortable and hygienic, and the morning is rich. Facilities are very user-friendly and the scenery outside the window is good. Good value for money, but also staying next time.
GGuest UserFirst vegan review. My wife and I are vegan and we were not expecting much. First day they had little cartons of almond milk but after that day they did not have any anymore. They have different fruits, strawberry, cantaloupe, no bananas, that's odd. and some not fresh fruit like pineapple in syrup. They also have coffee and tea. Oats that you can make with hot water from the nestle coffee maker hot water. Cereal like corn flakes and dry bread. Pool closed ”under maintenance” Bad things: Room key kept failing. Had to get it reprogrammed multiple times. Toilet does not flush well, had to do it multiple times. Soap bars are tiny and not very soapy. Might be the water but not sure. No free coffee in the room, just a hot water electric kettle Pros: Clean room. Good service. Across the street from a Starbucks, grocery store. Walking distance from bars/restaurants. Overall, a good option for a budget hotel.
