I can't say enough about what a gem this place is. The property is beautiful and peaceful, with a terrific pool. We got a seaview room and it was huge - with an equally large terrace that fit two reclining beach chairs and a table - the bathroom was spacious, wiht tub and shower. The staff is terrific, they even offered to ship back a adpater and charger I had left in the room; it's a little out of the way, you need to take the bus really to get around if you don't have a car, but the staff always drove us the short distance to the bus and also picked us up if we called ahead. We loved the privacy the hotel offered, and you can access the beach via a beautiful garden path (does require dexterity, it's up and down a hill, but for those who have no issues walking it's kind of a delight). I loved the island of Elba too - it's rugged in parts for those who like hiking, but the beaches are beautiful as well. The hotel is in the Zanca area of Saint' Andrea, there are no shops and perhaps one other resteraunt nearbye, so dinner options are limited if you don't have a car, but the dinner at the hotel (which is set daily) was terrific. The dining room elegant. I loved the Thursday evening happy hour as well. Marciana Marina is about a 30 minute bus ride away and that has all the shops and activities you want for a day trip. We loved this property and would defintely come back.
