This is our 2nd trip to this hotel. It’s now on a B&B only ( we had half board last year) with the breakfast served across the road in a restaurant with the best views across the bay! Great selection of food and drinks.
The man on reception is super helpful and friendly even at 11.45pm!
Lovely small hotel with a small pool
Comfy beds and the balcony is spacious with an area to dry towels etc. The hotel offers towels for rent but we bought one for €5 in the supermarket next door.
Cleaned every day and cleaned well.
Lots of restaurants and shops close by.
The fabulous beach is a 10minute stroll, with a massive supply of sun beds ( €20.50 a day for 2 beds under a fixed umbrella and an attached safety box)
We will definitely go back to Playas del Rey

We stayed in January and this was one of the few hotels open. The rooms were basic and clean but the breakfasts and dinner options were amazing.

It was quite quiet as it was low season, the room was good, with a terrace overlooking the pool, renovated, for breakfast you have to go somewhere else but the views and the products were good

Superb location - just a 5 minute stroll to the beach. Pool area is small but perfectly fine. The rooms are basic but have everything you need. The air con works well and there is a decent sized balcony. We requested a high up room and were fortunately given one. Breakfast was served over the road and always had plenty of choice - the views are fantastic! Upon arrival we were handed a voucher for 15% off at 4 local restaurants. A really helpful guy on reception rang and booked restarants for us and we were given the best seat in the house. The same chap also booked us a taxi to the airport to come back home.

Booked via jet 2 No bar Just a fridge to buy drinks at ridiculous prices and pay at reception Lady on reception very rude and unhelpful. We stood at the reception desk for 5 mins and did not even acknowledge us (she was not on the phone/ just starting at her computer) and no word of ‘bare with me, won’t be long’ etc Did not feel welcome Pool fairly small / not big enough Not enough sun loungers Life guard was there approx 2 days during a week stay Rooms very basic The shower flood every time you use it and the shower is very poor (comes out so slow) Have to pay €6 a day to use a fridge Aircon okay Breakfast very basic across the road. Hot food was cold. The hotel advertises food and drink and room service but this is not correct I would not recommend this hotel to be honest.

Checked in on 16 July saw that there was no bar or restaurant, breakfast was across the road at Balcony del Maria restaurant choice limited, spoke to Jet2 rep on Friday only to be told the the hotel had been sold and previous owners stripped out all the bar and restaurant machines and stock, only a fridge for water, soft drinks and beer, you pay at reception. WiFi doesn't reach 5 floor.

A clean and basic hotel. No thrills. Very good location, very very good price for what you get. Really recommend the sea view rooms. Breakfast is really basic but has lovely views - was perfect for us. Most importantly this hotel was spotlessly clean. Bathroom was immaculate, great shower, very well maintained. Rooms have large cupboards and large comfortable beds. AC works really well too. Overall really have no complaints for what we paid this hotel was a lot better than we thought it would be so I recommend it. Only thing I’d say is maybe not family friendly - mostly couples and groups of friends when we stayed.
