Barceló Huatulco

Hola! We stayed at the Barcelo Huatulco in February and had an amazing vacation. It was our second time to Huatulco and our first time to the Barcelo. We fell in love with Huatulco our first trip and we love it even more now. It's a beautiful place with awesome people and it's always warm there. The Barcelo is in a good location with beautiful vegetation and has everything you want. The rooms are nice, the food is good, the drinks are good, the pools and activities are good and so is the shopping, plus the weather is great. It is all really great but what made it extra fun for us was the new friends we made. Not only did we find some amazing new Canadian friends but we made a few Mexican friends as well. All the staff we dealt with were wonderful and made our stay a really enjoyable one. Abraham was so much fun. On Valentine's Day he dressed like Elvis and another day he danced with us to one of our favorite songs. We had a lot of fun with him and Francisco and Joshua in the pool. Omar took us out for a nice ride on the catamaran around Turtle Island and Fernando was amazing keeping our drinks filled. He never kept us waiting and was always so nice. Connie from the spa has some magic hands. We really enjoyed her mini back massages by the pool. Another person we enjoyed watching was Abraham and his hawk Bob. The two of them have a very cool bond and Bob is an amazing creature. If you ever get the chance to stay at Barcelo Huatulco, do it. You won't be disappointed. Danny & Karen in Canada

The hotel was nice and cozy and the staff were all so nice and helpful. We had a beautiful room right on the ocean and it was so relaxing going to sleep with the sounds of the waves. The food was good at the Buffet and the Mexican and seafood restaurants were excellent. We will definitely be back.

My family stayed at the Barcelo Huatulco March 2025 for 8 nights. Traveled with my husband and kids (aged 5 & 7), parents and mother in law. This place is wonderful. It’s smaller than other places we have been to (which we knew when booking) but it has everything you could want and great service. Upon check-in, we were quickly greeted and our luggage looked after. There was no line at check in and the receptionist worked hard to get our family in rooms all right beside together. The resort was explained and we were in our rooms in no time. The rooms are just what you need. We did not do premium and I don’t think we missed on anything. Plug-ins were in handy spots (near room mirror and many beside bedside table). Had a long counter with 3 drawers and separate cupboard and a table with 2 chairs. We had a large closet and shelving. Our mini bar was stocked daily (pops, water, beer, chips and peanuts) and had no issues with supply of bottles of water. Bathroom had many toiletries provided (only one it didn’t have was conditioner), make up mirror, hairblower, shower and optional wand. I would have liked to have a lower shelf under the sink to store things on and getting facecloths was hit and miss; but was minor. Patio had 2 chairs, table and drying rack. Bed was comfy and lots of pillows. Room cleaned daily and towels changed. At one point our toilet was making noise and when we requested service they guy was there within the hour and it was fixed. Very impressed. The grounds are beautiful and clean. I wasn’t sure if they kids area would be enough for our kids but they loved it. Pool was warm and well maintained. I wish the family pool had any option for some shade while swimming (regretted not having a swim shirt). We never had issues getting lounge chairs (pool or beach). The entertainment crew was wonderful. Daytime music around the pool and activities throughout the day. A big shout out to Alex with the kids club. She knew our kids by name and always said hi around the resort and made them feel welcome (also knew our family and would ask about the kids). Drink service was fantastic. There was always workers walking around taking orders and the pool bar service was the quickest I’ve ever had. One suggestion would be some sort of mat to stand on for ordering drinks on the outside bar service station (would get very hot on the feet but a mat or some sort of shade for the area would make a big difference without having to go into the restaurant and drip water). Every morning my kid loved playing mini golf. The area is beautiful and well shaded; better than expected. Nice seeing the birds and iguanas in the trees there as well. (Would be nice if the resort purchased a few more golf clubs). Beach was beautiful. A bit steeper near the pool side, but flattens out down by the lounge chair area. Small Hotel, Big Heart – A Wonderful Family Getaway We spent a week here on a family vacation and had a truly enjoyable experience. This all-inclusive hotel may be smaller in size compared to others in the area, but that’s actually part of its charm. It offers a more personal and intimate atmosphere, where staff really pay attention to the details that make a difference. Rooms: Our room was comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. We were lucky to have a room with a perfect view — waking up to it every morning was a highlight. The size of the room was just right, and the housekeeping team did an excellent job every day. Food: The food was delicious throughout the stay. The specialty restaurants were a standout — each one offered rich, flavorful dishes and an experience that felt a step above your average all-inclusive. From presentation to service, the attention to detail really impressed us. Even the buffet had great variety and quality. Service: One of the best parts of the stay was the genuine service. The staff were consistently friendly, attentive, and warm. You get the sense that they truly care about making your vacation special. Whether it was at the front desk, the restaurants, or around the pool, the level of hospitality was sincere and consistent. Overall: If you’re looking for a peaceful family vacation in a smaller hotel with great food, excellent service, and an overall relaxed vibe — this place is a great option. We left feeling rested, well-fed, and well taken care of.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone had a great time with my family the food was great and the service was excellent no need to worry about anything everything was included

We just finished a two week vacation at the Barceló in Huatulco. It really exceeded our expectations in every way. We really enjoyed the fact that it’s not a huge resort with a pleasant ambiance every where you went. The rooms were very comfortable and nice, enough sun beds, great food, delicious drinks and wonderful and friendly staff. The weather was superb, everyday 32 degrees and sunny with beautiful starry nights! The location was gorgeous with the most stunning views. We highly recommend this resort. We had a great experience! ️
