Just the standard RUI Hotel setup…unable to get a booking in any of the specialty restaurants. Buffet restaurants the same repetitive food.
Polite cleaning staff.
Reception staff need to be more customer focussed I arrived at 8pm given a keycard and a map and pointed in the direction of the room…no one to help with baggage. Requested late checkout on the RUI app had it confirmed and then I find keycard not working on the day after spending the morning by the pool headed to reception was told I should have requested this at reception…at no point in time did the app state this. I was told that the bell boy had put a note under my door..that’s ok if I could actually get into the room to read it, but there was no note !
Would not say this is a 5* hotel more a 4*.

Arrived home yesterday after an amazing holiday! Hotel is spotlessly clean, our room was cleaned every day and towels renewed daily, housekeeping staff work so hard, the lovely lady that cleaned the toilets by the pool worked non stop and was forever mopping the floor, which at times was a bit dangerous as was quite slippery. The food in the restaurant was excellent and so much choice we didn't know what to choose. The staff in the buffet restaurant were always very happy and friendly, Ana always quick to serve us with a smile. We also ate in the a la carte restaurants our favourite was the Kulinarium, steak house was good too, we did feel a bit rushed in the Italian, as we went for second sitting and felt as if the staff wanted to get home, never the less the food was still good. We mostly ate in the Santa Maria for a snack at lunch and again the choice and food was good. The coffee bar was lovely too and the lovely girl in there always served us with a smile too. The staff are amazing and we have never seen such happy smiley people as the staff here at any hotel we have stayed in. Thank you for a lovely holiday Riu Cabo Verde!

Husband and I spent a fabulous 2 weeks at the Riu Cabo Verde in February. The hotel was very nice, room was large and spotless, cleaning staff in everyday and do a great job. Food was good, so much choice, I can't imagine anyone not finding something they liked. All inclusive drinks were local brands, wines were Spanish, and we found them all drinkable. The entertainment was the best we have experienced in a hotel, and the team that provided daytime activities were excellent, and encouraging everyone to join in. The staff were so friendly, helpful and always with a smile. We travelled with a small pharmacy after reading some previous reviews, but thankfully brought it all home again. Due to the windy weather we were not bothered by too many flies or mosquitos, and could sit all day on the beach without feeling roasted. Usual story about reserved sun beds at pool, but we are beach lovers so didn't bother us. The Cape Verde motto of "No Stress" was so true, and we will definitely return

We loved our time here. The room was clean, the food was delicious, entertainment was brilliant, staff were vibrant and engaging. Special thanks to Djohn n the pool bar who catered for low sugar cocktails for me. We hope to come back next year as it was so amazing. Thank you to everyone who works at the hotel, you made us have such an amazing break.

Nice property; Staff were friendly and food was good. Rooms were clean and adequately furnished. Beach was very nice but bit of a walk and pools were nice.

Our second stay at this wonderful hotel, our room was in need of a little updating, however it was spotlessly cleaned daily, and any extra requests we made were fulfilled ontime. The staff here are all wonderful, friendly and work extremely hard. A huge shout out to William who looked after us so well at breakfast times, listening to him gently singing whilst working was such a refreshing start to our day! We will definitely return !

No complaints at all. Staff work really hard and can’t do enough for you. Everywhere is constantly being cleaned and any issues are solved quickly. The hotel rooms and pool area are looking a little tired but didn’t distract from our holiday. Maybe smoking should be banned from pool area. 4 star not 5 due to a refurb required but would use again.
