Mixed review. It's very clean, fantastic staff & the food is good in places. Main buffet is great so much food to try think my favourite was shepherd's pie pie & the Portuguese beef stew was amazing but it only came out once.theres meats, salads, cheeses, pizzas, roast meats, pasta's, soups, cakes, icecream, fruit, waffles, pancakes so much choice. Mandalay Asion fusion you book via app as many times as you want. There's no show cooking like stated but the food was delicious but if you have spring rolls its actually mozzarella but super tasty. Mambana pool bar is a buffet open from 10.30am until 4pm now the food in here isn't great in the sense we often ended up with raw meat in burgers etc for lighter bites it's ready made sandwiches mostly fish I opted for vegetarian & it was basically a bit of carrot & onion in mayo unfortunately there's no cooked meats or sliced cheese to make your own but you could add more salad like i did 😁 you can either eat in or out but take your plates back. Mambana steakhouse after hours was a bit higglety pigglety. I opted for ceasar salad starter it was good but then 4 times we got offered the fish starter. Sauces/dips was not labelled not good if you have allergies. Mains we had ribs & the surf & turf which both come with fries or ledges depends on the day. The sticky ribbon sauce was super sweet, to overpowering. The steak was 5oz but came out 2ox but was done how I asked for & was tasty just needed bigger. The battered prawn skewer was ok. Dessert was a huge let down nothing like the photo. We only went here once. We never did the kulinarium we didn't like the set menu. The sports bar was full of mosquito's, screaming teenagers. Swim up bar was great but it didn't get super busy both sides. The theater is very big & very loud especially when your in block 10 & it goes on till early morning. We didn't stay in there it was hot, loud, hard to get a seat & being disabled i needed it. Now I will say mambana day & buffet do have disabled signed tables but not everyone takes notice. I didnt know but you can reserve sunbeds at reception if disabled. Being disabled i could not do the night club very steep stairs. We didn't do the beach as it wasn't very access due to dunes & rocks & the sea isn't that close which is very rough it hardly has a green flag on show always red. There is one accessible entrance to pool & that's situated at the very far end follow signs to beach. Hotel has 2 levels with 2 flights of stairs depending on your disability you may want to request ground floor when booking. There's lots for kids to do. It's 5euro in taxi to santa maria with lots of shop & bars. My partner is a scuba diver & opted for another dive school & not the hotel one. The outside lobby area is split in to smoking/non smoking but are close so if you really don't like the smoke stay inside. The rooms are clean, not much decor, toilets are a task in their own to flush as sometimes they don't stop. The gifts are well stocked & they do
