We stayed at this hotel for just two nights, and the experience was disappointing from the moment we arrived. With temperatures around 29 degrees outside, we quickly discovered that the air conditioning in our room was not working properly. Unfortunately, one of my friends was ill with tourista (caught elsewhere) and had to stay in bed in the stuffy room. When I raised the issue with the staff, they simply put their hand on the air conditioning to assure me that it was working "normally". I tried to explain that at over €200 a night, it was unacceptable not to have all the amenities, but they showed no willingness to find a solution.
I tried to endure the unbearable heat, but in the middle of the night, I could no longer resist. When I went to see the night staff, I was first told that the hotel was full before finally being "magically" offered me two available rooms. The next night, I was able to sleep in a decent room, but I had to return the keys in the morning. Later, they called a technician who checked the installation and assured me that it was "cold" in the room. However, even after leaving the air conditioning on at 16 degrees for 24 hours, the room remained stuffy.
This experience clearly highlighted the lack of professionalism and poor problem management. No concrete solution was offered, apart from a possible fan... which was never provided. It is really sad to live such an experience for the last days of our stay in Cape Verde, especially after having chosen this hotel because of its many glowing reviews.
Finally, the prices of drinks are exorbitant, like €7 for a simple squeezed juice! In summary, this hotel is clearly not worth its price and I strongly advise against it.
