Elide Design Hotel

Happy return I have stayed here several times before but was pleasantly surprised by how beautifully refurbished the hotel is. I also have eaten in the restaurant before but the food if anything has improved- the Fiore de zucchini were wonderful- nothing deep fried; cod delicious- stunning flavours with it and the figs with Gorgonzola with the steak - first class. The traditional dishes also of a very high standard. Despite having stayed and eaten before I never felt the friendliness that I did this time - I think this has much to do with Simone as, although there before, was not in “charge”. From the minute I arrived the welcome was warm and there were obvious warm relationships with everyone involved even when very busy. Breakfast was lovely and new area excellent. A wonderful family run hotel and trattoria and I look forward to returning - still some dishes to try. Central to access the train to Rome and Florence, a bus is running from Perugia airport to the station so excellent access. Bus to old town and Rivotorto from station. A few minutes from basilica of Santa Maria and if enjoy walking around 30 minutes to either old town or Rivotorto. Wonderful base to see Spello, Foligno and Perugia.. Just what I needed.
