We stayed one night at the Pousada in Marvao. We were met at reception by George, who gave us a very warm welcome and offered to help us with our luggage. The room was lovely, with fabulous views over to the mountains in Spain. The room was bright and spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. We had breakfast in the morning, and it was disappointing. The range of food offered was quite limited. The scrambled egg was far too salty, and it did not look very appealing. There could have been a bit more attention to provision of glasses for the orange juice and some other bowls etc for cereal/yoghurt. Overall, we would definitely return to stay here, but would probably avoid breakfast. There is parking close to the hotel.

Lugar muito interessante. Não conhecíamos e estávamos de passagem em uma viagem de carro e foi uma grande e grata surpresa parar nessa pousada para 2 dias. Café da manhã gostoso mas nada demais. Quarto aconchegante.

La habitación era bastante grande y cómoda. No le dimos a que no tuviera vistas ya que desde el comedor y el salón de estar se podían apreciar. Lo único que nos gustó fue la humedad en la habitación, un efecto que se observa en casi todas las edificaciones de este pequeño y bonito pueblo ubicado sobre la cima de las montaña. La comida muy buena, no excesivamente cara y profesionalidad en el servicio de cena. En definitiva, nos pareció un buen alojamiento

Marvelous stay in isolated Marvao
What an exceptional spot! Marvao is incredible. The pousada is in a perfect location, and overlooking the plains below, it has a fabulous view. Our room, although small, was quite commodious and had historic traditional Portuguese furniture. Our dinner and breakfast were most enjoyable, although the dinner was not “gourmet”. Would we stay there again? Absolutely.

Adorei a hospedagem na Pousada de Marvão. "Welcome drinks" no quarto, café e água; lençóis muito macios e optima temperatura. Fomos recebidas de uma maneira muito calorosa. Excelente pequeno almoço com sumo de laranja natural feito na hora, pão local maravilhoso, queijos igualmente maravilhosos e doces caseiros top. Funcionários 5 estrelas. Recomendo.

Local muito sossegado, aprazível, excelentes camas, com bons colchoes e almofadas à disposição. Insonorização óptima e excelentes vistas da janela do quarto. Quarto muito espaçoso com grandes áreas de repouso em poltronas cómodas. A banheira e torneiras poderão ser modernizadas.

Unique and delightful experience
Very unique delightful place. Did not fully understand what we had booked but it was great. Not really close to restaurants other than in this walled village. The name of the hotel is not identical to the signs in the village which caused confusion for us. Santa Maria is in the name on the sign posts which is important as it's a tricky village to navigate, especially with a car. Otherwise a great time.
