My husband and I spent 3 glorious nights in the Olive House as part of a walking holiday with Portugal Nature Trails and it was a magical experience! The hosts Soledad and Antonio are incredibly generous and accommodating. The Olive House was built in 2019 and it is perfectly designed with a small kitchen, dining table, and comfortable living room. There is a loft bedroom with a huge king-size bed that is beautifully appointed with the finest crisp cotton sheets - a perfect night's sleep! The bathroom has a beautiful walk-in tiled shower and great water pressure and plenty of hot water. The windows have screens to keep bugs out and there is also an air conditioner, but we didn't need to use it. I especially loved the delicious breakfasts and we were lucky enough to also arrange for amazing homecooked dinners all 3 nights (This is not typical, but can be arranged by request). Soledad and Antonio take great pride in sharing special meals and Portuguese signature dishes. The prices were so reasonable -- an exceptional value. You will feel very loved and well cared for at this property. I recommend this house if you care about sustainable practices -- special care is taken to protect limited resources. The walk into Castelo de Vide was very pleasant but you should allow 20 minutes and be prepared for a good cobblestone hill. We had a great stay without a car (our transportation and walking routes were arranged by Portuguese Nature Trails)
