Motel 6 Santa Maria, CA - South

This is as bare bones as it gets. On the downside: it's a noisy lication, no drawers for clothes, no ice machine (but there is an ice bucket), no in room coffee maker (but it is available at the office), six tv channels, the towels are like sand paper, the 70s era bedspread has holes in it, no shampoo or conditioner, the small bar soap doesn't feel like soap. On the okay side: there is a microwave and fridge, the ac/heat works well (but is nousy), good shower pressure, and hot water. The bed is relatively comfortable. Close to food, store, gas, and freeway, and it's clean. I'm not all that picky about lodging, but I won't stay here again.

This motel was advertised as "breakfast included" but found out at check in that there was no breakfast. Property is rundown. Pool was closed and appeared to have been that way for quite a while. Broken soda machine and empty buckets next to stairs. Seemed to be some long term tenants. In room, shower was moldy around shelf. One small bar of soap and two plastic glasses were the extent of amenities. There was only one chair to sit on, and a very thin blanket on the bed.
